ive noticed this too. he either has poor technique or needs new cleats. he seems to not be able to control his body and catch the ball simultaneously very often. its *******s and elbows everywhere while hes sliding on the ground or he drops it otherwise. not sure whats up with that. certainly not what the nfl scouts desire...except that massive frame, long arms and speed. maybe they'll leave him alone for us to mold into a better receiver for them one more year. :thumb: :thumb:

Matt Flynn looked really good. I did notice on two of the TD passes he threw the ball high and our receivers made great athletic leaping catches. (1st and 3rd td) The throws were not on the money and the receivers could have easily dropped them but they didn't. I thought Doucet and Carter looked like they lived up to all of the pre-season hype when Flynn threw to them.

JR will be our starter baring injury, and Flynn could get lots of experience with the likes of App St., Ole Miss, and Ark left on the schedule.

Nice game all around for the TIGERS....

I think I saw him do it twice against Auburn on passes into the end zone and we all know how that worked out.

  5. I think that I saw those same two passes and can't blame JR for either! :dis:

The difference is that Flynn throws a pass that is easy to catch. He gives the defender time to make adjustments. I'm not knocking Russell. Russell does a lot of things better than Flynn. I doubt if Flynn could have drilled the ball between two defenders on a crossing rounte, the way Russell did, early in the Auburn game. Russell is improving his touch game by game.

i hope you are not talking about our second to last possession in regulation or in ot. On the pass still in regulation he nailed bowe right in the gut and he dropped it. In OT early was so wide open that he just basically lobbed it, and he dropped it. Jamarcus has splenty of touch when we throw it downfield which is very few. For example the first td he threw agaisnt fla to brazell was a little late but had plenty of touch
