1. When we welcome the Hokies to Death Vallley this year, let's not boo them or Tiger Bait them. I say we all stand up and clap when the Virginia Tech football team steps out on our field. We can still cheer for our Tigers to win, but I just wouldn't feel right booing them after what has just happened.

  3. This sounds like a great idea! At this time, everyone has to pull together. They should be shown nothing but the HIGHEST FORM OF GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP!!!

    Geaux Hookies!

(but I'm still pulling for LSU to win a clean, strenuously disputed contest!)

  4. Not much of a Hookie fan because of past issues between our football programs but this is a VERY good idea. I think it will show the utmost class if we give them a heartfelt, warm welcome. And Im sure it will be heartfelt because I cant imagine anyone not saddened and horrified by what they have to endure now and in the future.
  5. I am torn on the subject. If I was apart of this tragedy I wouldnt want to be treated any differently and I wouldnt want to miss out on the normal atmosphere of an intense game in Tiger Stadium or any other stadium.

I am all for cheering for them when they come onto the field out of respect for the tragedy they are experienceing. But after 5 months, I would kind of be tired of getting the extra special attention and ready to blow my lid for a huge and maybe the biggest game of the season for both programs.

Dont get me wrong, I am going to be nice and respectful and refrain from any unproper comments. I will invite the fans that pass by for tailgating. I have a feeling their fans are going to bring it after the long buildup and I will be there to give it back in a respectful manner.

A TigerBait here and there might just be what these fans need to put a smile on there face. I want the fans to leave saying that is the best and most intense college atmosphere they have ever experienced.

BTW, I noticed they cancelled the rest of Spring practice and the Spring Game on Saturday.

It is ashame what their community is going through.

    Geaux Tigers

  6. I agree
  7. As I've stated before and will state again, any opponent that steps into Tiger Stadium will get a rain of "boos" and "Tiger bait" with the exception of Army, Navy, and Air Force acadamies. They did not hesitate to do the same to our program back in 2002 when we visited and cowered back their return trip already. As such, they should expect to hear the boos and tiger baits yelled at them as that is a form of respect that we think their team has the possability of coming into Tiger Stadium and ruining the day for us.
  8. This is a tough one. I'm still bitter from our visit to their stadium a few years back. It was our first game of the season and their 2nd game. They jumped on us quick and we played a sloppy very bad first game of the season football. Their fans chanted "over rated" throughout the game and really enjoyed beating a preseason top ten team. I've had little respect for them since that game. Yesterday's events have of course changed my feelings for the Hokie community. I agree we should treat them with class and welcome them to Tiger stadium. ASU treated us so well two years ago when we had to move our home game to Arizona. I believe in fate. I don't think it is an accident that we are the team hosting them for their first road game this coming season. I say we greet them with applause then beat the Hokie out of them. I want an SEC championship and an NC. This is our year and we need to take it to every team we play. Take no prisoners!

  9. Absolutely.
  10. That's a long way off and I hate the VT football program for running like cowards from our previously scheduled game. No way should we show any mercy to their football team before or during the game. However it was an unbelievable tragedy and their could be a moment of silence before kickoff along with maybe some type of ribbon or pin being worn to show we support VT university in their time of need. I'm all for supporting VT just not their football team. I hope that doesn't sound too harsh because it's not meant to be.
