bad call right there, runner was safe at second

 

that is easily the worst call i've ever seen in my life and i've been watching ball for close to 35 years.

 

Yeah, don't know what that umpire was watching.

For those not watching it.... The Bama player was not on second base when he caught the ball and he did not tag the baserunner at all, nor even try to tag him. Just stood there and caught the ball while the LSU player ran in to second base safely behind him.

 

These are some short innings....

 

why didn't smoke question that call?
i'd at least ask the ump how the runner was out.

 

That was only a 7 pitch inning for Dirks. One of the best played defensive innings I've seen in a while from the tigers too. Great catch at first, excellent catch and long throw from first, and very nice catch of the popup behind home plate.

 

strange play all around.. of all things, the Bama coach was the one who came out to question it afterwards
