1. Not bad, though the visual effect took me back to my peyote days. :hihi:
  2. What are you thinking of?

I was thinking that someone who has line in to their computer could use Skype (or any other voip software), and possibly make a massive conference call. Of course, I'm not sure if there are limitations on the number of people in one call.
  3. That's not very efficient, I'm talking a p2p audio relay program such as PeerCast/IceCast. It's not difficult to set up, I'd help anyone do it.

The above link is the program you'd use to listen to the stream. Very easy to listen to and simple to set up, the quality is as good as your FM/AM antenna allows :)
  4. Thank you...

as the weeks go by, we will add more segments, and will have postgame interviews with players and pregame interviews on the Wednesday show, so stay tuned.
  5. Yeah, my idea sucks... hehe

I haven't heard of that software before, but it sounds nice. Hopefully, you can get that set up with somebody.

BTW cgisclair... sounds good so far. I've been looking for an LSU podcast for awhile now. Nice job, man.
  6. thanks bud... We really do appreciate the love
  7. Well damn I was reading up on this since I haven't done it in a few years..and it seems that in 2003 a law was passed requiring royalties to be paid for each retransmission of an AM/FM program. It's cheap, like .05cents per program...however they define each receiver of the retransmission as 1 program. Even though the Peercast app technically only streams to 3 or 4 people (about 20cents royalty), each one of those 3 or 4 streams also to 3 or 4...and I don't think the law covers this new bittorrent type of technology (where the original 3-5 receivers could be responsible for streaming to thousands...do each one of them pay 20cents? each person pay 5cents? see....).

It's a gray area. At the least, the first direct streams to other people (like 5 from Peercast originator to the first 5 who connect to it) would be covered, so you're looking at about a 20cent royalty...but who knows about the ones who connect those five, and the ones who connect to those as well. I'd guess the local Baton Rouge radio station wouldn't give two ****s about enforcing these small royalties, especially since their advertisements would be broadcast with them over the internet ...the more exposure the better, right?

Anyway, since it's kinda iffy, I'd probably suggest cgislcair or someone else with radio ambitions (better look into podcast/peercast/shoutcast/icecast anyway, it's the future of radio) call up the radio station and see if they could get permission to re-transmit the AM/FM broadcast of the game (make sure you tell them their ads will be preserved).
  8. yeah... next show out Wed...
  9. Was fish19 in the movie the "Waterboy" a few years back?
