This is the first time in my life, maybe the first time ever that LSU is a national powerhouse in Football, Basketball, Womens Basketball and Baseball. Not to mention track and other sports. Someone please let me know if they can remember a time where all sports were ranked so highly.

Live it up my friends.... This is a great time to be an LSU Tiger.

    GEAUX TIGERS!

Uhh, men's basketball is unranked. Not quite a national powerhouse yet. Baseball might be looking at its worst year in quite sometime, ranked outside the top 10 in a preseason poll for the first time since '92 or somthing. But yah, we're having a good stretch.

Men’s basketball is ranked #1 in the SEC. I can't remember the last time we were there. Baseball is still nationally ranked and very well respected. Football is getting better and better. Women's BBall just beat Tenn at Tenn.

Are you just looking for something to B1tch about or do you feel as good about LSU athletics as I do?

    Geaux Tigers!

The past 5 years have been great for LSU athletics. Our university has one of the premier athletic programs in the country. Let's just hope it continues!

    Amen brother!

    Football top 10 finish
    Women's basketball -- currently top 5
Men's basketball -- BARELY outside top 25, yet 1st in the SEC
T&F -- no need to state the obvious: they kick arse!
baseball -- currently top 25 (and this is the sport of ALL the rest that may be considered "down"--for our standards, at the moment)
    Gymnastics -- top 15

    Impressive stuff indeed!

Rankings mean nothing... we are 8-1 in the SEC...

We could have scheduled Southern Miss, Northwestern St., etc... in place of Uconn and Ohio St, and be around 20-2 right now, so we could have your precious "ranking," but in the end, we will be better later b/c we were in trouble early.

I just consider national POWERHOUSE as the top 5-10 teams in the nation. I feel great about the state of LSU athletics, but I mean ask anybody outside of LSU fans if they consider LSU a national powerhouse in basketball and see what they say.

LSU is not a powerhouse, get off the drugs and see reality.
LSU should and could easily be where Texas sits ... a true Powerhouse.
LSU is second fiddle, get the net for the girls, they're swooning in the heat.

Smoke can't win the big ones, Brady can't keep players, and Lester ... that biotch ... choking on Krispy Kreme donuts regurgitated by Phat Phil & getting horse-whipped by Mark Richt after he went "snoodling" with Skipper (Dumb & Dumber) for a Cotton Bowl bid before the SECCG. Unforgiven ... I wanna bullwhip the bastid while reading him scripture from the Good Book ... 40 lashes ... one for each point his teams should have averaged with vertical passing attack in 2005. yeah, weeeeeeeeeeeeez a powerhowse, sho' nuf Skeeter ... what's the punchline? LSU is more like a Bigshot ... Definition: A little shot that keeps on shootin'

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a team have to have several good years in a row (at least) to be considered a powerhouse? Even if our Men's basketball team were ranked in the top 10 right now, I still wouldn't consider them a powerhouse. Do that for several years then maybe. A #26 ranking for the first time in many years does not equate to being a powerhouse. You are correct about our football, baseball, and women's basketball though.:thumb:
