Those were above average years for a TE and the most productive career of one ever in LSU's history. Injuries caused Dickson to faulter in his NFL year. But before then he was in the top tier of production those 2 years in college football. We took advantage of having an elite TE on the team those years. When we have good QB while Miles was here we did.

Elite TEs are a rare commodity and usually products of the system. That is why we see guys we never heard of flourish in the NFL.

In the right system, guys like Lutzenkirchen(May have to shorten his name for the NFL) (You know he and Mo Isom went to the same High School?) and Smelley(bamas FB/TE/F-back) may do well in the NFL.

    Contained Chaos Don't we all?

If you listen to some of the regulars around here, very few position players will ever have a chance to excel in "Miles' system". Kinda makes you wonder how he's averaging nearly 11 wins per season. :rolleye33:

CC, I agree, LSU must be doing something right, lots of players going in the first round.

Very few players run a 4.4/40 time. That said, knowing how to run can help with a players time. For years Murrell Eugene has helped a few players make that next step.........oh, Murrell, you may know him by his nickname.......

Great man Boots!! When he was at BRHS and Bobby Wicker was at Lee High in the 60s they turned out some of the fastest school boys in the nation such as Al Coffee (LHS and John Carlson BRHS).
They were also fun to be around. I remember after the state championship in 1970 Boots and Bobby to some of us seniors from both teams to the "strip" in Shreveport for a little after meet fun. A few drinks and conversation with the local girls taught us more than 4 years of HS class. They would probably get in serious trouble for that today but I'll never forget it and will always appreciate it.
