It's going to be a classic SEC West game. LSU v. Alabama for the right to play in the SECCG (unless Bauburn spoils it by beating Bama.) I would hate to see Bauburn in the SECCG this year. The Tigahs will have to play a game with fewer penalties and turnovers than normal. The stadium crowd will be loud when the Tigahs have the ball, so, I hope that we can work on having a silent count. Could go either way . . . is the point spread out yet?
You hit the nail on the head on the over/under comment. It's going to be a low scoring game. If the over/under came out at 32, I'd take the under, because I don't believe that more than 31 points will be scored in this game between both teams. The Tigahs will be at a disadvantage in the game and will be the underdog. Hostile crowd, LSU's coaching staff is in their first year together, LSU QBs less experienced than Brodie Croyle. The Alabama team is hungry . . . maybe a little hungrier than the LSU Tigahs, who won the :crystal: during the season before last. Alabama hasn't won the SEC in a while . . . LSU has won 2 SEC Championships out of the last 4 awarded. If the Tigah coaching staff and players let mistakes and penalties affect their game and their minds, and Alabama does not, I see Alabama winning. If LSU can't get it done, then I'd like to see Alabama in the SECCG (certainly not Auburn).
To make a comparison on how I see this game I have to go back to yesterday between UGA and UF. To beat UF, you have to get pressure on Leak which UGA simply didn't do yesterday. In fact, it wasn't until the 4th quarter that they actually blitzed him, right? This Bama v LSU game is going to be looked at the same on both sides of the ball, IMO. It'll be a situation that the outcome will likely be decided on which QB ends up receiving the most pressure, JR or BC. The thing that puzzles me the most is whether JR can handle a lot of pressure as the game goes on. UT had Brodie on his back 5X during our recent meeting and he was still able to put a game winning drive together. Can JR? I haven't watched him enough this year to be able to answer that question. If I'm Pellini, I'm bullrushing Bama's OL the entire game. If I'm Fisher, I'm running straight up the middle against our defensive tackles the entire game. If UT would have continued running at our tackles during out contest they would have won that game. But (whether it was Sanders or Fulmer) they chose to go back to that finesse' type approach which ended up being their downfall (not taking anything away from our defense, mind you.) An early breakdown...and I'll look at this in more detail as soon as we move past MSU. QB's- Bama RB's- draw OL- LSU WR's- draw DL- LSU LB's- Bama DB's- Bama Special teams- LSU. That's 3 against 3 with 2 draws...which pretty well tells me it's a situation with the first team to 17 probably takes it.
LSU will have to cut down errors to win this game, and in front of the Bama crowd it won't be easy. They will have to finally put it all together and be sharp in all phases of the game. Given this occurs late in the season, we have a shot. Being a homer, in my heart of hearts, I think LSU wins a close game, like 17-14. If LSU loses, I will pull for Auburn to win against Bama. Proud Tiger, CadillacAttack, Deceks7, and TigeriniumMajor are great posters on this forum, they live here year round. There is nobody here from Alabama, cept game week. On the other hand, with Ga. losing, if Bama beats LSU, they are the only SEC team with a shot at high honors this season, so I could pull for Bama for that reason, to put the SEC in the best light. Hmmmm. I guess if LSU lost to Bama, I wouldn't care that much about who won the iron bowl. Be happy either way.
I think that is a fair breakdown. Also do not worry the only place we ever run the ball is at the DT. I dont think we have another running play.
I just found this forum. I expect a good game regardless of who wins. I am disappointed Georgia lost. I was hoping to have 2 undefeated teams play in the CC. I also hoped that at the end of it all there would be 4 undefeated team so the BCS would be forced to do something. Ahhh well, it's still possible I guess. To go undefeated in the SEC is hard and it Bama losses the SEC will be out of the NC even as a long shot.
