I cant help but feel that Miles needs to make a definitive starter now and start putting this team on the path to having one leader that is their QB. It is up to him to make the decision and go with it.

Teams need leadership and you want that leader to have time to make his presence felt in that role. That is why i dont like the 2 quarterback system. It is fine to get backup qb playing time when things are in hand but the QB has to be the man.

It is great we have 3 QB's that can play but we can play only one at a time.

I would like to see the decision made by the end of the week and then start getting things tuned up for the season.

Lets get the season going because this waiting and speculating is driving me nuts.

I see no reason for them to name a starter now, unless something has supposedly changed & JaMarcus (or whoever) has seperated himself from the others. The announcement won't come until about a week before the North Texas game.

yeah... you have to know for the week of N. Texas practice, but anything too soon is jumping the gun...

You want to be 100% certain 1st

If you name a starter now, the other guys will not push as hard.. you make it a horse race to the end, so each is pushed to his limit in the name of competition.. If I am Miles, I dont even name a starter for UNT.. I make that game the audition for who wants to start.. Give each guy his reps and see how he stands in on Saturday night.

The competition is good for their development.....whoever will step it up needs to step it up quickly. With Perilloux being more of a double threat QB, I'm starting to think Perilloux may come out of this on top. But I'd hate to see talent like JRussell and MFlynn sit the bench.

The team knows it's JR..all of them that have been interviewed said JR is the unquestioned leader. JR has more capability throwing the ball than any of the QBs, has more experience, and has Jimbo's endorsement of the playbook knowledge. Any QB that has all that, plus is the unquestioned leader of the team will be the starter...not naming a starter right now will not change that. JR is the starter.

There is no way RP will be the starter this season from beginning to end......

the 2004 season for JR shows that talent alone does not get you by in major college football... you dont start RP unless you are desperate... but you still keep the competition going by not naming a starter..
