Exactly You are exactly right. These people think the ones in charge are all for winning football games at LSU. Sure they want to win games just like everybody. But they hated Nick cause he'd throw them out of his office and just plain ignore them. He didn't play the little petty political games and schmoozing at Weems' house.....he was about himself and football. They want to win football games and be the ones controlling the strings of the coaches.
One more thing They would have never hired Spurrier even if he was available......he wouldn't put up with the CCL, backroom, political BS either. It was time for another DiNardo who they could push around.....another Archer they could control. Another Hallman they could scare into doing whatever they said. Spurrier would have too much control and they can't stand it. They stood it as long as they could with Saban. These guys were praying Saban would lose so they could fire him....they hated him. It's the Auburn Bowden situation....he stopped playing their games and they hated him.....they waited and were praying for him to lose....when he did they ran him out on rails. Mile is our result. Wish him luck cause he's gonna need it.
KTeamLSU You think this is about hiring the best coach available? You need to think about what you're saying......think about the coaches we have here......and what we've lost. Emeritt......Saban.......Arnsparger....all the ones who wouldn't put up with the BOS and booster and AD meddling have left. These boosters give a bunch of money....they want to be on the inside and control some stuff with these programs. Saban wouldn't put up with it......they wanted to meet with him weekly. He cussed them and told them to GET OUT. Now, they have their lacky that they hope wins games......a coach who'll let Weems and the other BOS in the lockerroom, guys he'll have to meet with, go to their homes and visit their company parties......or else he'll lose their support and .....what? maybe get fired. It's all political.
I just hope it ain't true... you sound like you know what you are talking about, but I would hope that experiencing the glory we did the last 5 years... the BOS would learn that "maybe they don't know best"
Obviously you haven't lived here in a while b/c this state is still ran like a banana republic and the BOS is not any different. The good ole rats have done it again.
I lived in La for 3 years, while I was attending LSU, I never experienced the Archer, Hallman, Dinardo years... only the Saban... so I am probably more spoiled then anyone here...:dis:
There were some goods years there, but like the saying "What goes down in the well, comes up in the bucket". Took a couple of years for their true colors to show through.
