One of the intangibles on a team is does it have good leaders on the field. I heard Coach Saban talk and mention this topic many times in his statements to the media.

When it comes crunch time do we have someone that can show the way and inspire others to perform.

Late in the games when your tired and every play matters does having a leader on the field whether vocal or by actions make a difference.

I always think of Larry Bird. Not really a vocal leader but when you went to play with him he made others better while performing at a high level himself. Same with Magic Johnson. Was their any doubt when they played who was taking charge of their team winning.

I dont think this is talked about by the media that much but having good on the field leadership can be the difference between winning and losing.

Is that what we were missing last year and had in the Championship season?

I definitely feel that we lacked that on offense. Neither of the QB's assumed that leadership role. I'm sure that's hard to do with a 2 QB system, though.

I don't think it will be a problem this year, however. Even if the QB thing is still in the air, our line is chocked full of seniors, and Mr. I-can-do-evertything Addai is also a senior.

it isn't sort of important, but it is VITAL

When the guys are down and out deep in the 4th quarter... they need to be able to hear from someone: "Let's go guys. We can do this!"

It is ABSOLUTELY essential! Now the type of leadership varies, but you've got to have leadership from players on the field.

The list of coaches with good leadership skills who DIDN'T make it is very long...why? Because coaches can't get out on the field and play, so their leadership only goes but so far.

No offense Calco.....but this poll is like asking "How important is it to have a right arm, if you wanting to throw the football with your right arm?"

The poll will be 100% for it.
