1. Anyone else find it more than a little disheartening that we are supposed to be happy with beating State & maybe KY? Two of the traditionally worst teams in the SEC, along with Vandy.

Whatever happened to talking about beating UF, Bama & Auburn, UGA etc , some the upper echelon SEC teams?

    Is this the new norm?

I mean do we start trash talking fans of the bottom feeder teams? Are we one of them now? Do we get "BlueGrassVance" coming to post on LSU boards?

Don't know, but beating State & KY seems like something Ole Miss might be happy with, not LSU. We should beat KY. Ranked or not, this is still football not Basketball.
  2. No, LSU is not. We are just going through a temporary downturn in the program. This happens to every elite program periodically. LSU will be on top of the college football world again, but it’s going to take some time to climb that mountain again.

  3. The status of college football today is simple. Throw out Bama and everybody else is bi polar .
Gumps have gotta be hated by networks . Why watch playoff?

  5. Once, beating Ole Miss WAS da shit.

    Things cycle.

LSU has never been a dynasty.

  6. Once beating Ole Miss was like beating Alabama because they were that good…..at least through Archie Manning.
While we’ve never been a dynasty we’ve been up there with most.
  7. Archie led Ole Miss to national prominence for what, a couple of years? Bear Bryant led Bama to national prominence for a couple of decades. Excluding Nick, end of discussion.

  8. Chill out for a while. It’s definitely not the new normal, just a minor bump in the road. Better days ahead, I guarantee you.

  9. You forget or are maybe too young to know but Archie was at the end of Ole Miss’s era of excellence. In the late 50s and early 60s they were SEC champs a couple of times and National champs at least once. In the 1960 Sugar Bowl (after the Halloween night Billy Cannon punt return) the beat us 21-0 in the Sugar Bowl. They were our top rival for years....Go to hell Ole Miss go to hell was a lot more prominent on campus then.
Do they compare to Alabama in the long run? No, but they weren’t chopped liver for over a decade.

  10. That's before my time. I vaguely remember Billy's TD run as described by John Ferguson.
