Those of you that are saying he wasted his time defending himself? GIVE ME A BREAK. How long do you think it took him to type that? Probably less time that it's taken to read this whole thread. I wouldn't be happy about this sort of retort if it was football-related. But trashing the guy, saying he goes out too much? That's more personal, so a defense of that is great. More power to him.
One of my friends knows him and all she talks about is how great of a guy and how nice he is. I've never heard a single bad thing about him off the field. He's class act to the max. I'm 21, on the verge of 22. I'm in college. I go out and drink. It's just how it is when you're this age. I don't want to wind up being that old guy that goes to the young and hip bars and likes to think he's still got it. I don't want my youth to pass me by. Saying that, I can understand where he's coming from. Alot of times people forget that the college ball players my age are really just kids. They are going to go out and experiencing college life, and, yes, that includes going out to bars, parties, etc. and consuming alcoholic beverages. It's that simple. It's okay just as long as it's not affecting your professional life (work; school; football, in his case).
I agree completely about letting athletes act their age. When I was 20, going to bars was fun. Fifteen years, a husband, two kids, and a mortgage later, I have less than no interest in going to a bar. But when in college, experience everything there is to experience; it doesn't last forever, and you can't go back. I also remember a post on here last winter when someone bashed Marcus Randall, a FORMER Tiger athlete at that point, because he was at a casino gambling. Whatever...
More power to JV if he wants to defend himself. He is put out into the public eye more....but also has a right to shut up fans that have no earthly idea what they are talking about
What a joke. It's not like what was said is some kind of "inside" recruiting or coaching information. It's hard to believe there are people that pay for those worthless "Services" $100+ a year. We get tons of inside info from cool people like Tito and cgisclair among others. I hope Mike S. blows half his profits for this fiscal year just on legal fees and gets the case thrown out anyways. Mike, if you are reading this, how is your view from your purple and gold ivory tower?
Actually, I agree with Mike S on this one. What I was saying was that I had done nothin wrong. It is wrong to post premium information from that site here. That guy makes a living off of that site and thus "owns" the content that he posts. He doesn't own the information, which means I could come on here and say, "Mike S on TigerBait thinks Al Woods is a solid commit to LSU." But I couldn't come on here and post the word-for-word article that he wrote. It would be like you owning a convenience store and someone coming in and stealing all of your inventory and standing out front handing it out for free.
