I still think we need to get the ball in Justin's hands at least 15 times a game. He has never been a back that picked up 6-7 yards every time. He is a home run back. He would have those runs for 60 yards and some 1 yard or 2 yard runs. Look at the Sec Championship game and the National Champ. game. in these he had those big runs. It is going to be hard for him to break off a big run with 5 carries. I just don't understand why we dont think he is producing when he only get 5 carries. I think he is a big play back that we lack right now.

Vincent has to be more versatile than that to get more carries. Addai gets 6 yards a carry, while Vincent gets 2. The Tigers need a running back that can get first downs and enable a ball-control offense. The "home run" is for baseball. How many running downs can LSU afford to waste at 2 yards a carry, just hoping for him to break a big one?

Addai is faster and more powerful than Vincent. Carey is more shifty than Vincent. I like JV and I think he will get his carries. But to get more of them, he must be more consistent and effective on every down.

I totally agree....Addai is the best back at LSU IMO!!! Vincent had a good year 2 years ago but hasn't shown anything since (besides special teams play, which is awesome). Maybe Vincent will come back to form maybe not........But for now Addai shouldn't be taken out of the game for anything other than a rest!!!!

me and a friend was talking about this last year, see what y'all think.

It seemed to us that after the 03 season and his high praise it seemed that he went soft. Perhaps he was afriad of getting hurt and screwing up his draft stauts or whatever.
It just didnt seem that he was hitting the holes as hard as you was in 03, more like he was tiptoeing through the line afraid of getting hit, instead of just lowering his head and hitting it hard.

CTK, that's almost the exact same discussion I've had as well. Just doesn't seem as assertive. I'm convinced he got his bell rung at some point (in the spring, or practice, maybe?) and just lost some of that edge. Hopefully he'll get that back, but for now, it's Addai or bust, IMO.

While I agree he wasn't hitting the holes as hard and was tiptoeing around......I believe that was because the size of the "hole" had shrunk from 2003 to 2004.

This year's Oline is just as strong as 03's...

Tennessee has some of the best lines in the country. LSU wasn't able to dominate them, but we held them off better than most teams could.
