    Re: J MAR

that fact only supports my assertion that he hasnt developed all that much. had he played the entire game, he may have had 5 TDs and 0 INTs.

ifs and buts mean nothing. The fact is that a two successful head coaches thought JR was worthy of starting over whoever the number 2 was, and that he has a 63% completion percentage with a 2 to 1 td to Int ratio this season with only 1 career loss in any game he has started. He could improve on the fumbles, but if he was perfect we wouldn't be having this discussion. Patience does not seem to be a virtue with the JR bashers.

He has definately improved because the coaches have said so...

Last year he called his own plays in the huddle, which weren't the plays Fisher was calling lol...this year he doesn't. That's improvement.

Last year he threw the ball in the air instead of getting rid of it for an INT, this year he's throwing that same ball out of bounds. That's improvement.

Last year he couldn't check off the play at the LOS, and couldn't read the D pre-snap to figure out which route to throw, this year he can. That's improvement.

Last year, he was not confident and assertive in the huddle, causing indecision in his teammates, this year he is the leader of the team. That's improvement.

Last year, he only knew a handful of plays well enough to run them with SEC caliber precision, this year he knows 90% of the playbook. That's improvement.

He is by far a better QB, even if the results are not markedly improved. Results don't necessarily equal the path one took to get there.

im just being a poster. ya know, bouncing around any ideas i want to.

    definately not JR bashing

if "ifs and buts mean nothing" then there would rarely be anything to post on TF.

fair enough, but there has to be more substance to these arguments if they truly warrant discussion.

you dont think the numbers of his first game compared to those of his last game warrant discussion about how much he has improved?

Not the discussion about how much he's improved, but it does warrant discussion about how much the team around him shoots theirself in the foot to make his numbers look worse than they really should be.

his #s sure would be better without all the fumbles.
