Arkansas. The point is that our running game is excellent despite the lack of a marquee back. PLUS our passing game is good, too. Who was #1 in SEC scoring offense and total offense last year? LSU. Who won the LSU/Arkansas matchup at their place? LSU. One stud player ain't going to get it done at Arkansas this year. But he's a good one.
Fine points, every one. BUT, in the context of the thread, Arkansas has the best two backs in the conference...with Kieland, and possibly Murphy or someone else in a position to take that distinction away from them. Yes, LSU's offense, IMHO, is far and away better than Arky's...but the point was made...correctly so...that Arkansas might have a thing or two to say about who has the best backs in the SEC. Their two backs were the best backs last year...hands down. Our RUNNING GAME...and offense for that matter was better...but that wasn't the point.:thumb:
It's just a supposition, but I suspect if Malzahn wasn't the OC at Arkansas last year Casey Dick wouldn't have been pulled as quickly as he was. Dick has some experience, in fact, more than a lot of QB's in the SEC. I bring him up because Marcus Monk is one of the best receivers in the SEC. If they can get their timing together, it could prove to be a great combination. Btwn. Jones, McFadden, Monk and maybe Dick they have some talent in their skill positions. (That first sentence was hard to write...Dick gets pulled, yanked, jerked...replaced, that's the word I should have used.)
It's fine when you did it, but bringing tiga into it... where do you think half his posts came from? They came from threads about Arkansas QBs whose names are the same as a (generally) crude reference to phallic organs. (Penises, tiga. Phallic means penis.) The other half came from Dabbs' Nothing thread. /tigabashing /threadjacking I could honestly care less about Joe McKnight. The RB position is the most critical useless position on a football team. A good fullback that can get 3 and a half between the tackles is just as good as a breakaway back if you've got recievers (which are a dime a dozen). I'm happy we lost him instead of someone like Barksdale.
I guess Houston's front office felt the same way when they picked Mario Williams over Reggie Bush. :yelwink2:
My statement has nothing to do with fantasy or professional football. That, and I can't be blamed for bad decisions. Reggie Bush isn't a running back, you know that. He's (my) everything
