Re-read my posts. No one here is hanging on JJ's jock. I don't post often, I am just tired of everyone hanging on JL's jock and calling JJ "garbage" (do I need to link the threads?).

And nowhere in my post did I say that JJ was a good QB. I called him an average QB.

Sure JJ stunk in some games last year, but JL had his bad moments and so did the rest of the team. And yes JL pulled out the UF game last year, but JJ pulled out the Bama game (which no one that is hanging on JL jock seems to remember).

Lee only played one series of downs in the first half, and one play in the second half of the AR game.

This is the point that I make to the "CLM knows best" argument. JJ was stinking up the field last year, but CLM left him in. Crucial Sacks, fumbles, and just overall bumbling of the game. The Second half had 5 drives .... three 3-and-outs in a row, then a drive where they made it down to the 8 yrdln, then a 19 yard loss of somesort, and a FG ... then the following series ... JJ fumbles .. end of game. We were essentially tied, 20-21 starting the second half. The Defense held AR to just 10 points in the second half, but our anemic offense last year could only muster 3 points in 5 drives. ... against the pathetic AR defense.

YET .. CLM kept him in there the whole time, except for one play.

I'll give CLM credit on the Bama game .. Lee wasn't the working game plan. He put JJ in, played it safe, we managed 3 points to put with 3 points off the int, .. and the automatic 3 points in OT.

BUT .. CLM seemed to lose his ability to make a good decision like that when JJ was the starter in the game last year. He helds his nose and let him continue to play poorly ... and lost the game.

Krags may have made a huge difference in Lee and JJ's play, but I don't see him making any difference at all on CLM's decision making ability when JJ is the starter. Even in this last WKU game ... you can plainly see that CLM has a bias for JJ:

"We thought we might go with Lee a little earlier than that, but Western Kentucky kind of proved to throw some wrinkles at us that we didn't necessarily anticipate," Miles said, referring to WKU's frequent blitzing. "We liked Jefferson in there in that situation."

For the most part, when things are tough, you go with your "starters" ... CLM clearly thinks JJ is the higher potential scorer between the two. Someone please show me the data that supports such ... cause I don't see it.

This kinda b.s. from CLM is what will throw Lee back to the performance levels of yesteryear. A complete lack of confidence in him, while all along, having undying faith in JJ. I just hope we don't see a repeat of last year.

How many series did we even have in the first half? I'm honestly asking that because one of them lasted for two plays before the 59-yard TD pass to RR, and another was squandered by OBJ's KO fumble.

The second part of my quote was that the defense couldn't get off the field effectively in the first half.

But if JJ threw it 10 times in the first half, that is more than he would normally throw in 2 quarters.

I still think the coaches were having him air it out in a real-time experience, as opposed to just practice.

I don't know. I would have to go back to the play-by-play and count but I probably shouldn't do that at work. It sets a bad example for my minions. :hihi:

Exactly why Lee threw picks against Bama

Neither QB is GOOD, but BOTH QB's have improved from last year. Lets PLEASE get PAST LAST YEAR!!!

Lee has won us more games this year, but JJ has not made as many mistakes this year.

Take it for what you want, I just cant believe that some of you are not enjoying this ride, rather whining and bitching about nonsense instead

JJ has not made as many mistakes "this year" because, frankly, he hasn't been in nearly as many plays.

From games missed due to his suspension, but cameo introductions into the game his first 2 or 3 games back. And when he was in the game early on, he rarely was asked to throw the ball except for "safe" screens or short patterns.

Now, he did well vs Bama, and statistically well vs WKU. But c'mon! COMPLETELY not seeing RR WIDE OPEN only to benefit from his legs to avoid a loss on that play that would have been pathetic at best, only to find a WR that had back-tracked towards his struggling QB. And then there's the whole safety issue. That play was TERRIBLE! As a 3-year starting SENIOR QB, you HAVE to KNOW that you CAN'T simply sit back there baking a cake when you're in your own endzone. That was a bad, BAD play.

To be honest it wasn't the quarterback play that bothered me Saturday, it was the way WKU was able to effectively move the ball on us. And the mistakes we made. And OBJ fumbling twice on kick returns.

That wasn't entirely surprising to me, since I was expecting a bit of a letdown after Bama. Add to the mix a team on a 5-game winning streak and you got what we had Saturday.

WKU reminded me quite a bit of the teams Troy has fielded the last few years. A couple of speedy backs combined with a shifty QB who can give a front 7 fits.
