Who's he gonna take? Jimbo?! Some of the same "differences" that has been documented between Fisher and Miles HAD BEEN said about Fisher and Saban earlier.

Pelini?? Why would Pelini want to be a "puppet" in Saban's defense the way Muschamp was? Pelini runs the defensive show at LSU and the only time he'll leave is for either a coordinator in the pros or a head coaching job.

Searls is perhaps the only assistant I think Saban would actively pursue. As good as Searls has been for us, positional coaches come and go. Saban had a "swinging door" for positional coaches almost every year. If indeed Searls is the target, remember that Miles was a former O-linemen himself and he's known to gravitate to that section during practices more than any other (like Saban with DB's) so I think Miles knows enough about O-linemen to either do a quality job himself, or know enough people/coaches out there to bring someone in as replacement.

Jimbo is looking...maybe it won't be Bama, but he's already put his resume out.

Of course he does, it's all about ratings.

It's pretty common for a coach to contact coaches who worked for him in the past when putting together a new staff. The question is how many actually wants to work those ungodly hours again. Saban is a monster on his assistants.

yeah...FSU may still be a possibility as well. We'll see.

Obviously, I don't want to say that I would want to lose any coach from a team that just completed back-to-back double-digit win seasons, but (and this is just me) I think replacing an Off. Coordinator is a WHOLE lot easier than replacing a top defensive coordinator and position coaches are almost certainly interchangable at every program.

You can find a young offensive coordinator and it work out great. All you needs is for someone with innovation and who isn't affraid to take chances at times. A good D-coord., IMO, has to have a lot of experience because it's his job to have to stop your opponent and all of their little "trick" plays, etc.

And Miles has been said to be one of the more generous in terms of paying his assistants. And it's pretty safe to say Miles is certainly more friendly that Saban.

So....coach I like and get along well with vs slave driver??? Not a hard choice for me to make.

Saban paid his assistants top dollar. Fisher got a nice pay raise when Miles came in to keep him here.

I keep hearing Fisher desperately wants out. He is quickly running out of potential jobs. If he takes the Bama gig, we'll know things were really bad between him and Miles.
