If you look at Sexton's track record, I think this is par for the course for him. I still don't think Jimbo is coming home.
Yeah, but if he weren't interested, or if LSU weren't on the radar, wouldn't his response have been something to the effect of "I'm not going anywhere, Tallahassee is my home, my obligation is to this team at FSU, blah blah blah"? This sort of ambiguous language gets you wondering.
Leverage to get a raise, that is Sexton's MO. Big name, big money, control, guarantees, not a solution but rather repeating history.
which is why I added "unless this is just Sexton at work (again)." I, for one, am not big on hiring Jimbo Fisher. I have him at like 4 or 5 on my wish list.
