DBs live and die with their confidence. Regardless of whether or not it's earned or false bravado, it's important to a DB. I don't care what they do as long as they keep playing at this level.
I agree too. Glad this was brought up. Seemed to be more of it in this game though than I noticed in others, so maybe reciprical, but still need to keep that poise and act like a championship caliber team. :miles:
I am glad to see people coming around on this I posted this on another thread a couple weeks ago that as much as I like TM's game I can't stand the mouth. Being at the games last night I couldn't see everything but was text that it was getting bad by most of our DB's. My thought on TM is maybe he has somewhat of a little man's complex
Really? I doubt it--not when he can stick it to any and every player on the field. He can talk the talk because he walks the walk.
I like Mathieu, but....... The guy is without a doubt a phenom. However, the chit talking before games and after big plays has to STOP. This is one of the things that I believe has differentiated LSU over the years, you don't see our players doing a lot of jaw jacking during the game. That is something you expect to see from Miami, Florida St, USC, etc. I hope Miles addresses this.
LSU usually has one or two players doing this each year.. What people have to remember is TM7 is a small guy compared to most players on the field with him, without this fire he has I don't think he'd make the plays he does.. He wasn't the only player talking smack in that game, it's mire noticeable with him because he us always around the ball.. I'm not saying I like what he does but I think if you take that away from him you'd also take some if his play away..
I disagree. Getting in someone's face after a tackle doesn't make him play any better. You can maintain intensity without running your mouth. You are right, he isn't the only one. I just hope we don't get carried away with it because at some point an unsportsmanlike penalty is going to come around if it does continue.
I'll say two things on this. 1) He definitely backs up his smack talk & you dont know who is saying what and who started it. 2) I am old school and do not like either. I think its tacky and I am dissapointed that the coaches allow it to continue. If it takes away from his mojo and begins to affect his play on the field, then I may feel differently, but all in all, Id prefer our guys to be a bit more tactful
