The ref looked pissed and shoved him off!
O well we didn't get penalized that play so I guess it paid off.
As far as trash talking its always fun to watch, but their is that line you shouldn't go over and TM7 was toying with it last night. I think last night was about as far as you can go and not get penalized.
I would hate to see us get flagged in an intense game later this year.

The ref at least put his hands on Sam, "in a pushing motion"

The ref looked like he couldn't believe Big Sam hugged him. I couldn't believe it, either, but there it was. I laughed about it. We needn't worry so much about penalties. Big Sam was actually stopping the fight on the field.

It's a game; it's supposed to be fun. Montgomery always looks like he's having fun.

I think it showed a lack of focus, and explains why they got burned to badly last night. Les answered a question at one of his recent press conferences, and specifically stated the importance of these guys "not reading their own press clippings." I have a feeling this may be the core of the trouble. These defensive players, as good as they are, are also very young. Young people are very susceptible to pride and ego. When that happens, the focus shifts from how well the team is playing to how well the player is playing...and that's just not good.

If they don't pull it together, they just might begin to implode. Nobody wants to see that. ('Cept maybe the rest of the SEC.)

Kiper has him 15th overall pick right now with real potential to become a top 10 pick. Claiborne's not gonna pass that up, slopping tackling or no.

It's definitely generational. The older fanbase won't approve, but I'll bet TM's attitude combined with his performance makes him a rockstar on campus. Unless The Hat comes down with disciplinary action, it won't stop.

You've nailed it. I'm old school so I would prefer that the trash talking be minimized. What pisses me off is when a DB gets beat on a 3rd and 15 and talks sh*t like he just returned a pick 6. Or when you're down 14 points and you're talking sh*t like you were up 14.

As far as I'm concerned, if he plays the way he did last night, he can whip his junk out if he wants.

For some players, Jordan and Bird come to mind, trash talking not only annoys your opponent, it is a way to keep yourself angry and engaged.

As long as it doesn't draw a flag......
