1. Point well made. I wonder if Mo was jawing a lot with WR Bailey in the first half, and ended up missing the tackle that led to Bailey's 6pts?
  2. AL looked like the real deal yesterday. They made a statement with that game. Some ferocious hits. LSU and AL are alot alike this year.
  3. WVU sure did. The taunting is almost like locker room material for the opposing team. The LSU D has got to be smarter.

There were quite a number of missed tackles last night; I think it is a nice review course for the D to sharpen up their tackiling. It was a good experience for them to learn how to tackle the shifty WR's that WVU has, especially #1 Austin; he is special.
  4. From tigerbait.com:

Looks like our DB's aren't going to be the only ones "jawing"....Sounds like Reid is expecting Chavis to do a bit on them this week. And rightfully so.
  5. I hatethe trash talking, strutting, and strident. One should expect to make the great play and therefore not need to act surprised and celebrate. The crossed arms stare into the camera ONLY HAVE A Downside and can only be construed as street thug.

TM needs a big dose of maturity..... fast!

  6. Was violent and lots of nicks and injuries. Petrino and company took an all or nothing approach to our game. Some reason they felt this was their best team on both sides of the ball. Will be interesting to see there response at aTm in Jerry's house next week.

  7. A couple of times Mo went to the sideline to make a tackle and the receiver just side stepped him - once for 6. Not that impressive of a move. Mo just seem to over commit on the tackle, if that makes sense - not breaking down before hitting.

And it seems like 2nd half it was 4 man rush most of the time with no pressure on G. Smith. What was up with that?

  8. X 2!!
  9. I agree.....i'm hearing Mo is gone after this year, NFL bound, I really think that Mo would be best served to come back one more year, he's a great cover corner, but he does need to work on a couple of things...especially his tackeling.
  10. I used to feel the same way, but these kids come out of high school talkin' a lot of chit on the 21st century. Old-schoolers see it as poor sportsmanship, and some of it still is, but most of it these days is just banter and swagger. Many times I see guys jawin' at each other all game but at the end of the game they are grinning and slapping palms.

Things are different in the internet era. People say outrageous thing to each other hiding behind their little keyboards but nobody is willing to take an ass-whipping any more on the street. You pop off to somebody these days and they are likely to pull out an Uzi and blow you away. They ain't worried about that on the field, the worst that can happen is an old white guy throws a yellow hanky at you.

These athletes got some mouth on them and when the adrenaline and testosterone start pumping, they are having a fine time and start talking smack. As long as they aren't showboating for the crowd, I can live with it. Tyrann does a bit too much posing and headshaking.

And this is what Les has to concern himself about. The taunting rules have been ramped up this year and they can takes points off the board if a receiver struts into the endzone or gorilla-walks after a safety. They have to watch the language, too. Some of these referees are old-school guys and you start getting bad calls when a referee is annoyed at you.

So . . . I can live with some talk out there as long as they are being smart in working the referees and not costing the team.
