You can laugh all you want. You know JJ played horrible, and should have been benched, and Lee is not a great qb either.
I still think we were better off when Les kept swapping out Jefferson and Lee. It really made it hard for the Defense to keep a working strategy going. Regardless of anything else, its a shame to treat Lee like this. Jefferson is a good Quarterback, but Lee stepped up to the plate like a man and motivated the team at the start of this season. The're an old saying that comes to mind. "You dance with the one that brung ya".....Lee deserves better than this.........
Oh boy, I wish I could say that I do NOT agree with you, but you are correct. JL was in the frickin' dog house the entire game, suited up and ready to go only if JJ became incapacitated. Then JL goes out for the final knee. (Remember, too, that JL never got to throw a pass in the last seniors home game in DV). I understand totally about back-up QB status, but JJ was stuttering badly and JL was still bolted to that dog house. J. H. Christ-on-a-Cracker, but there's a mother of a story buried in there! It's as if JL got caught tapping coach's gal.....I was also unhappy to see that JL was not partaking of the general excitement on the sidelines--he seemed isolated--marginalized. Not nice to watch, folks!
Maybe it would help if Coach Miles didn't pretend we had a two-QB system in his press interviews. Just say it - JJ is our QB. Quit saying Lee will play and then leave him on the bench.

It reminded me of Lee's demeanor when he was going through the nightmare season in 08. He did the same thing. Went to the end of the sideline, stood by himself with arms crossed. The guy is frustrated. He filled in admirably as the backup QB and likely thought that he had assured himself the starting job. When he floundered at Bama, the real starting QB went in and never let go of the position. I wish he would have stayed closer to the team and I'm disappointed that he didn't but we all have our ways of dealing with this kind of stuff. My only frustration and confusion is in how he was used last night. Jefferson was clearly struggling ( 5 of 13 for 30 yards) with some of the worst passing numbers I have ever seen in a game. Lee stayed on the sidelines. JL didn't even get thrown in the game as a wakeup call. Whatever is happening behind the scenes must be pretty bad ...
I can only assume that Miles was trying his hardest to avoid a QB controversy going into the NCG with one of the QBs possibly not even being able to play.
I have to agree with the posters who've noted that your ethics are just as important as the win. If "winning" is all your worried about, then you are pretty shallow. You're no better than a Bama Fan, .. who has the exact same perspective [so what if Bama lost in regular season, the politics will put them in the NCG, and they can win the crystal]. AND .. I'm calling B.S. on this talking point put out by ESPN that apparently a bunch of you have picked up. Lee was the "backup QB". No .. Lee was the STARTER for 8 games. He was not the backup. I said some time back that CLM is like a BIGOT! Lee has an off night, .. he goes to the bench. JJ goes 3-out 6 times in a row .. he continues to start. JJ throws for a whopping 30 yrds .. and he will start the next game. My case has been proven. CLM IS acting like a Bigot!! A biased, sorry, prejudiced Bigot! He's letting his luv for one guy trump ethical treatment. I said back after Bama ... who's to say that LSU couldn't have beaten Bama with Lee if the coaches would have tried. But they didn't. They had no plan to try .. they were looking for their chance to hand over the starting position to JJ. If Lee would have went 6 3-outs in a row against anyone .. you can bet CLM would have pulled him. Heck .. JJ didn't even have to wait for Lee to go 6 3-outs, CLM put him in to get him some time regardless of how Lee was doing. Yeah .. we are 13-0. Scam Newton was 13-0 at this point too. Bama will get an undeserved shot at the Champioinship, and will likely beat LSU if they play like they did last night. .. and they will get to kiss the Crystal Ball. Karma .. it's a bitch aint' it. It's kinda hard to be happy about winning when it is cast in the shadow of how JLee is being treated. Being trotted out to take a knee on Senior Day, last game in Tiger Stadium, trotted out to take a knew in the SEC CG. .. all this AFTER he hand delivered this season to LSU. Sorry people .. ethics are more important than winning. It says a lot about your character is you think otherwise.
I feel that Miles is disrepecting him by sending him in to kneel down for the last snap of the game - he should have sent in Jefferson.[/QUOTE] Lee going into the game for one snap gets him in the record books as participating in every game. Not 100% sure how the whole "letters" thing works, but I know it is important to get on the field for at least one play in the participation report. Also, Lee was up on the stage for the trophy presentation with a select group of players...
Can't wait until Mett is the unquestioned starter. We will have two years of harmony. Then we'll be right back to a controversy with Rivers/Randall.
