Great win despite the first half. JJ should have been sat down though. Miles is too attached at the hip to JJ. While Im not all that high on Lee. He should have been brought in at some point to try to bring a spark. Lee did enough to deserve the opportunity. As mentioned we need Lee with his head in the game in case he is called upon. Only way JJ is off the field is a JJ injury though. Whole other story but Id really have loved to have seen Mett in there.
He gets an SEC ring and possibly an NC ring. I think he'll be fine. This is the SEC, not liberal peewee land where everyone gets to play and everyone gets a trophy.
It was really weird, for sure. With our pathetic offense in the first half, I expected to see JL--if everything was okay with JL, but looking into his eyes during the shots of him during the game? Everything is not okay with that kid. We could argue all we want about why, but we'll never know. And I thought sending him in for a knee was an odd move, too.
I laugh at you :hihi:. There are always QB arguments around here. The same hosers will be bitching about Mett and pimping the backup by halftime of game 1 next season.
I agree with others sentiments about JL! I have no idea what happened for him to fall so far in CLM eyes, but I'm sure he wishes the cameras would never find him on the sidelines. With the kind of first half we had and with the windup and late throws JJ had, it just seemed we needed yards through the air to open things up. Seemed made for a qb shakeup, but it wasn't to come. It reminded me of the last couple of years of offensive pain. OK, it SUCKED! If we have qb'ing like that in the nc game we will need all of the defensive and special team help we can muster to have a chance.
Because Lee got benched and Jefferson went in. That's the way it should work. Passes thrown at receivers feet are all on Jefferson. Remember last season. Jefferson was inconsistent and not on top of his game. When Les started pulling him for Lee, Jeffersons play got immediately better. Some players just get lazy when they think they own the position. Jefferson appears to be one of them. When he gets five straight 3-and-outs, can't manage a first down in a half, and you see him smiling on the sidelines . . . that is when you put in your other senior quarterback, the one with a better passing game that can hand off the ball to the running backs just fine. Jefferson may have earned the start, but he is far from a complete quarterback and Lee doesn't deserve to be relegated to going in to take a knee. Lee has certainly earned the right to play when Jefferson is stinking the place up.
