Oh Einstein took the quote out of context. The issue regarding Lee that touches so many people, and the reason so many people are pissed about it, is a human issue. It is a way of treating a person. It is justification and deserving respect. A wrong is a wrong. If I beat the **** out of your kid .. if I shoot your kid .. if I moleste your kid ... if I cheat your kid, ... if I unjustifiably descriminate against your kid. .... if I switch your kids test paper for another kids paper, so your kid fails and the other passes ...

Jarrett Lee is getting free out of state tuition paid for & an education, by signing a letter of intent & enrolling at LSU to play Football. That is what he is entitled to.

Nope .. there's no games ... just two groups of people who are viewing an issue totally differently.

On the one hand, there are those who are thinking only football. I totally agree .. from a football perspective .. hey .. he's a backup QB, he wasn't even supposed to play at all this year, JJ allegedly gives us more options on offense, trust the coach, he's winning, coach knows best, we are 13-0.

On the other hand, there are those of us who are seeing a young man benched for what "may" be reasons that are seemingly unrelated to play. Reasons that may include unequal treatment, favoritism, a split in the locker room on the part of the players [mentioned some time back in other threads] .. or, as I've noted, time and time again, ... the hope of some off the field incident, like maybe Lee said something, or Lee's grades.

If Lee was benched because he sucked .. hey, I'm all in. But here is where the rub begins. Lee throws an int, in comes JJ. JJ throws and int, in comes JJ. Lee is strugling, in comes JJ ... JJ is strugling, in comes JJ. That's called inconsistent treatment of two very mediocra QBs. One gets the preferential treatment, while the other gets to look over his shoulder and fear making a mistake.

THAT .. inconsistent treatment .. is NOT A FOOTBALL issue. However, it is bleeding into Lee's football performance!!

As I said, it is a human or psychological issue, kinda like ... Okie State losing their basketball coaches the day before a game affected their play. Penn State, having to lose their coach over a sex scandal, affecting their play. ... I'm not embarrasing myself at all. I know damn full well what I'm talking about. But some of you are stuck in the "football perspective", . .the 13-0 mentality, the coach knows best b.s.

You will never grasp the perspective that some feel about Lee, and how he has been unjustly treated by CLM. You don't feel his pain for not getting to play meaningful snaps on his final game in Tiger Stadium .. or not getting to play in an SEC CG, that he was mostly responsible for getting the team to that point ... or the fact that he will not get to play in the NCG, that his performance played a big part in attaining.

He wans't benched because JJ is better, or JJ gives us a better chance of winning, or because he went cold, or that he sucked. He was benched for some other reason. I hope that reason is one that people like me who are seeing a young man screwed out of some major moments in his life will be able to look at and say ... ok, I can buy that.
