I know we don't want to talk about it but moving forward I still believe Lee should be the starter. However... I had always been in the view that him throwing off his back foot was okay if it worked for him. Now, I realize that is the reason he will not be an elite QB or make it in the NFL. Bama ate him up whenever he tried that and Bama's D is very indicative of an NFL defense. I am rooting for him to get his confidence back because we NEED Lee to win a national championship. Granted, we won't face a defense as nasty as Bama's, but I just hope he can move on and do what he did in the first 8 games of the season. He should be able to continue his success against Arky but UGA in the SECCG worries me more since they have a better defense.

he made some pretty poor decisions last night, and I don't mean on just the 2 picks. There were 2 other passes, that I recall, that were up for grabs. Everytime I see him go to the LOS and pull down the collar of his shoulder pads I get nervous. It seems that he does that when he is uncomfortable. I hope he gets his confidence back, and gets back on track though. Up to this point he has been very good.
Well said. I am also in favor of keeping Lee as the starter, because without him our weapons on the outside (Randle, Beckham, Shep, etc) become a non factor. We can bring in Jefferson as needed to do what he did last night. Lee had one bad game, and IMO it shouldn't cost him the job when we know that JJ really limits the offense. I also agree that Lee's limitations in his footwork, etc will keep him from being an NFL QB. That goes triple for JJ, however.
I noticed that a lot too, especially in the Oregon game. Dang, can we get the guy some shoulder pads that fit? :rolleye33: Normally Lee is good at making a quick decision to the WR under pressure. BUT, Bama's DBs had very good coverage all night so I'm sure he wasn't used to that. That's never a good combo, pressure and tight coverage for an offense. The pressure is usually gonna be there but I think our WRs will do a better job of getting open for him against other defenses. I wish we would throw to our RB's more often just as an outlet.
Jefferson didn't exactly set the world on fire. I don't think Les messes with the formula much. Everybody expected Jefferson would play more versus Bama because that well-balanced defense required a running QB threat. We're not going to see another defence with no weaknesses.
I like Lee & Jefferson. Jeff can't make the throws Lee can, but when Lee face, a solid D that can get through our line & force pressure on him, he gets flustered way too easily. I'll look for a nice comeback game from him against the rest of the regular season. But we no doubt need Jeff's legs & that option threat to get us to the BCSNCG. That being said, I can't wait to see what Mett will do next year. I hope they let him loose b/c he has a nice arm.
Said it before and I'll say it again... Lee was not pulled. The gameplan that revolves around Lee was pulled. Jefferson's option gameplan was put in. Next week, LSU will go back to the Lee gameplan. Run, run, run, playaction. It has work and will work against every team except Alabama.
bama's secondary was completely blanketing our WRs. When there was nowhere to throw it, Lee was forcing it because he couldn't avoid the sack if he held onto the ball for too long. JJ actually had an 18yd run on a designed pass play that had no open receivers. I don't know why we didn't do this more. He is pretty ineffective on designed QB runs. But when the D is defending the pass, the lanes really open up. Best bama could have done was put a spy on him, but that would have opened up coverage. I definitely think that Lee will continue to start, as we won't face another secondary anywhere nearly that good. The only other secondary on that level is ours.
