I am not that confident in LSU's offensive system, so no offense to Lee I'll say: 2600 Yds 19 td's 7 int's 58% And IMO - Good enough with a great defense and running game for a legit shot at a conference title, maybe even a bcs ncg
If lee can throw for 180 yards a game and average an interception every other game LSU's damn stingy defense, brutal running attack and Les Miles "want" to win will get us to the seccg!
I had said 2400 yards, 25 TDs, 12 interceptions, 60% Crappy tackling has a LOT to do with pick sixes. Only about two, maybe three of them in '08 were COMPLETELY his fault. I'm hoping that three years on the sidelines and one off-season with a real QB coach has taught him when NOT to throw in the flat.
Tackling! - That is one thing this team needs to execute to its finest on saturday. Our D needs to hit and wrap up. Tackling Fuel, Tackling Fuel
The key is in the picks. If he's protecting the ball, that means we're moving it well and he's not trying to win the game by himself by attempting inadvisable passes. That said, many very respectable college QBs average about a pick per game. So if Lee starts every game and ends up with around 10 picks on the season, then I think we'll be OK. Matt Mauck had 14 picks in 2003 to go along with his 28 TD passes. I'm gonna say 21 TDs, 10 picks on the season.
If protecting the ball means being scared then we will have a problem. Jarrett Lee was actually a natural gun slinger coming out of High School and that actually showed in his freshman campaign. What Lee has showed me as he has matured over the years, is that when he has confidence or doesnt feel the weight of the world on his shoulders, he manages the game great, and makes some HUGE throws. Think about the Tenn game last year, that final drive he completed 2 Huge 3rd and longs along with a long 4th down conversion to win the game. Think about Florida last year, in the swamp, he stepped up and carried us down the field He also completed the huge 20 plus yard pass on 3rd and long last year against Alabama to secure the win for us as well. I remember against Troy, Lee was booed and benched, and came back in the second half to lead us to a win being down 31-3
