Jamarcus clearly should have never been the #1 pick. And he would not have been if he hadn't had a great game against ND. The media was in love with Brady Quinn and so the game had tons of interest. When the blowout made the game boring, the announcers fawned over Jamarcus and Al was listening. Of course, I wish the former Tiger well and hope he rebounds. Doesn't look good right now though.

All this vehemence about Jamarkus Russell stems from two facts... 1) Jamarkus really sucks 2) most LSU fans lived vicariously through his success...and now his failures have become ours. ouch !!
I think you are underestimated just how big a train wreck JR is. Tim Couch was a bust, but he's at the same level of bust as David Carr. A bust, but had a few barely servicable seasons. JR is like Ryan Leaf bad. Not only a bust on the field like such a bust, he wishes he was David Carr, but such a bust off the field that it almost makes the on the field stuff look like the least of his problems.
