    JRs QB ratings

Irregardless of the opinions stated here ... this kid's Passing Efficiency Ratings tell the tale of the tape.

    http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?div=4&rpt=IA_playerpasseff&site=org

His ratings took a big hit this week and he tumbled from the mid-140's.

JR is ranked #37 with a 136.7 QB rating

    Shockley #14 & Croyle #27 ... Sam Keller's at #24 & Cox is NOW BEHIND JR at #39

The general movement in this kid's rankings has been upward this year. The next two week's stats should help him move toward the Top 25, where he needs to be, given LSU's abundance of great WRs. Of the five remaining games, only Alabama should challenge LSU's passing attack. LSU should run up the score on everyone else, including Ole Miss. That means big offensive numbers and high pass completion %, and many passing TDs and big numbers like we've waited for all year.

The question is ... Can JR finish as a Top 25 QB as a soph? TOP 10? SEC best?

You all can blow his horn or cut him down ... but I'm still waiting for him to improve on his numbers ... Shockley #14, Croyle #27 ... Do you think either are better than JR? Until one loses a game, the answer is "Yes" ... and the numbers don't lie.

    "Irregardless", what is that?

As for the rankings, we do need to wait and see how JR stacks up when the season is over, after he has had the chance to face some cupcakes. I think Bama and Ole Miss will be tough test for the offense.

Do I expect JR to be in the top 10, nope. It wouls surprise me actually, especially with those great WR's dropping passes and running the wrong routes like thay have been. If they start playing up to the level of expectations, which were probably way too high and it's not their fault for that, then JR could be a top 15 QB in effeciency I think.

    Re: JRs QB ratings

Did you ever take statistics class? Numbers can in fact lie... For instance, these numbers don't include the NUMEROUS dropped balls by our "great WRs" as you say. These numbers also don't include JaMarcus's ability to read defenses, call audibles, understand the playbook, or manage the clock - but JaMarcus is steadily improving in all of these aspects & will continue to.

Without the things I mentioned, JaMarcus will never have met his potential, regardless of his passing efficiency.

That being said, I look for JaMarcus to fall just outside the top 25 this year unless our WRs really step up.
