He gave his team a real lift with his feet and the throws, and it appears to me that will be the direction we go in as we go into the future. We look at next week. Certainly, Jarrett (Lee) is questionable. (Andrew) Hatch may be back but may not. We look forward to seeing more of Jordan Jefferson."

I think Les will start Lee unless Lee's unable to play.

See, all of this crying about how Les is "stubborn" and "won't change xyz no matter what" and "he should be fired tomorrow because he lost as many games as Nick Saban did the year before his MNC, in a year we knew would be terrible, and because we've prejudged him to be stubborn mule" is just nonsense.

Yes, it's not a happy feeling to have 4 losses...and yes it is not fun being on the receiving end of a blowout....but all of this nonsense being spewed forth on this board is getting ridiculous. Miles just showed that he definitely wants more JJ on the field....and we have no reason to believe he won't make adjustments at the DC position for next year. Not to mention, LSU can get some nice recruits to fill the current holes...freshman AND Juco.


So pick yourselves up, stop calling for Miles' head when he hasn't done anything fire-worthy, and let him make the appropriate adjustments going into next year. If you were thinking national championship again this year after all that happened in the offseason, you set yourselves up for feeling this way.

Best post of the day! Congratulations, and I agree. There's a bunch of unrealistic spoiled whiners on the board today. We went into the season inexperienced at many positions, and understaffed at QB, like 2002. It was not a formula for success then, nor now. It is what it is, and we have to get through it.

Okay... after 11 games, who has improved thus far? What games have LSU played where they have come to play with fire? How many were they flat? How many games did LSU play 60 minutes? How long did it take to see that JJ is far better than Lee? How many losses did we get at home? How many blow outs were there?

It's not about being spoiled. It's about underachieving.

Look, first let me say, most of me feels the way the thread started off... I mean, it's hard to top a NC season right? You expect up and down years in the SEC and with an inexperienced quarterback, you expect to struggle.

BUT, let me also say this is the first game this season where I am actually both disappointed and surprised. After all, Ole Miss has a redshirt sophomore QB too. They don't have 5 star DBs getting burned routinely. In fact, they mostly have 2 and 3 star recruits that didn't get offers from LSU, right? This loss cannot be chalked up to "this is an average year". This defeat was where we were out played and out coached. Arguably out-talented?

At the end of last year, I posted and foreshadowed the potential question in my mind about what we were to see this year... after all as many had pointed out many of the seniors last year were still Saban recruits. I was blasted and given negative points for even suggesting this. I let it lie, after all were were NCs right?

But, fast forward a year, and Miles needs to at least be critical and look himself in the mirror. Ryan Perriloux and Jarrett Lee are his recruits. As are most of the defensive players, even the highly recruited ones, like our DBs, our LBs, who are getting 31 points put on them by Ole Miss. Yes, our coaches are also to blame. If you believe there's talent there, then it's the coaching's at fault right? And, this isn't JUST a co-defensive coordinator issue, it's an intensity, ready to play and scheming issue.

Look, I'm not a sky is falling guy. Honestly, there's a lot of inexperience to blame here, and I hope we will be better next year, like Florida and Alabama are better this year. But, there's inexperience on Ole Miss' team too--New coach, new scheme, new players too and well, they won today.

This is a HUGE off-season for the Tigers folks, b/c JJ and JL will need to have improved, as do the rest of MILES' recruits. We're giving Miles the benefit of the doubt right now, both in terms of recruiting and coaching--as we should :milesmic:. But, time is the only true test of a coaches real success.

This was not a great season, and there was reasonable expectations that it would not be a great season after all the talent we put in the NFL off the NC team. Some folks are over reacting...

LSU has no god given right to the SEC west title, we get what we earn. It was not our year, I never expected it to be.

That's a lot better in itself. JJ looked for open receivers, could run, has passion and emotion, has every bit the arm Lee has, etc. Needless to say, JJ is far better in just what he brings to the table.
