Is it just me or are we not blitzing like we used to? I don't understand it. Have we lost the personel to be able to do it effectively or are we just plain not blitzing as much? Our pass defense has gone down the tubes.
We're not getting the push from our front four that we got last year, and it stands to reason...when you lose a Chad Lavalais and a Marquise Hill it's going to show.
Having awesome cornerbacks last year allowed us to blitz so much. Without perfect cornerbacks, you can't commit your dbs to blitz all the time.
I have no knowledge of that - I have no connection to it. I just hope we are never subjected to that atrocity again. Seriously, my only guess is that fan reaction was so negative that they finally took the hint. I don't know anyone who liked him. I know a thousand people who hated it.
actually i think we have been blitzing as much if not more. Thing is, Saban increases his schemes and blitzes as the year goes on so we remember more of the end of the season than when we started. But yes, the lack of a huge push up front makes it seem that way since less pressure on the QB. He isnt worried about the corners...he has more confidence in TD with a year under his belt and CW has been overused it seems. But I really dont think we blitz any less at all compared to this point last year. of course that last play when we decided to run a zone was killer that allowed the td. guy found the cushion b/t the corner and safety and the pass was el perfecto.
