Okay, I couldn't view this at work, so I had to come in and check it out at home.

    1) For some reason, I figured the doughnuts were cut in half. Nope. She just puts the burger in between TWO of them.

    2) Who in their right mind would put a fried egg on a burger? Never mind a DOUGHNUT burger!

    Krypto Huh?

It is kinda popular outside the US.

In New Zealand, they serve burgers with a fried egg and a big slice of a beet. horrible. Nearly gagged when i blindly bit into the burger . The egg is not bad but the beet on the burger is retched.

This place has the BEST burgers here in Charleston...plus they have Purple Haze on tap.

If you check out the Tell-Tale Heart...it is pretty good. I was a little reluctant at first to try it, but it was good. My fav isnt on there, but they have a burger with a crab cake on top with a remoulade sauce. In fact, every burger here is great. One of the only places in the area that grinds their own meat, so they can serve you a medium burger. S.C. has so stupid law requiring all meat to be cooked well done unless they process it in house.

Even though I would still NEVER eat egg on a burger, I, as an English teacher, have to love an Edgar Allan Poe-themed restaurant. They even have a burger called Black Cat, which is always the favorite story my students read each year during our Poe unit. It's extremely gory and disgusting--a sure hit every time with 8th graders.

It's actually pretty good. Over well and break the yolk.

I discovered it it France. We had been walking around Paris for about three days, seeing the sights, eating Eurofood. This was in 1973, there was no American fast food in town. But we were starting to crave something familiar and we rounded a corner near the St. Lazarre Station and saw this red, white and blue awning at a place called "Wimpy's American Hamburgers".

Well, we went right in and ordered cheeseburgers. They were burgers, but hardly American. It was served open face with a fried egg on top. Unusual, but what the hell, we just slapped the other bun on it and chowed down drinking the expensive warm Pepsi they served. It was great.

Then we noticed that all of the French people in the place were staring at us like we were tearing apart road kill. They were eating their burgers with a knife and fork, of course, and were appalled at these Americans eating with their fingers! Well, merde dure, Froggie, I know how to eat a friggin' burger.

Yeah, that might be okay--if I ate eggs. Until yesterday, I didn't know anyone, anywhere ate eggs on a burger.
