:crystal: Is it me or is Bo Pelini one hell of a coach. This D has gotten better each week since the ASU game. Now I thought we had another Tepper on our hands after that game, but Pelini has turned it around. Hell, just look at the improvements in one Ronnie Prude. Even Saban didn't have this kid playing this well. And you can't say enough about Kyle Williams and Claude Wroten. The best pair of tackles in college football. I may be crazy, but I think we could play with USC or Texas with our D playing this well. To bad we probably will never know.
We can't hang with UT or USC....that's fantasy land......they would both put up 30-45 points on us. If Alabama can put up 207 yards in one half on this team, I would hate to see what USC or UT would do. Luckily the adjustments were made and it won the game for us. You can't have a half like we did in the first half and compete with a USC or UT. I know that's not what LSU fans want to hear, but it's reality. Hats off to Pellini, I called for his head, and now his defense is largely responsible for this team being 8-1.
I'd like a shot at UT or USC. We wouldn't be favored, but I don't think we'd be blown out either. I'd hold out hope for an upset. Sometimes these teams get overhyped. Remember Ok./K. State in 03? I'd trot the Tigers out and happily take a shot.
Hats off to you, islstl. You are the only Pelini basher from September who has reconsidered and given the coaches their due when they have proved to be quite competent.
of course. anyone who thinks they KNOW on paper the outcome are either not a sports fan or clueless or both. Remember bama in 92 against the canes? i do. You can cite many examples of powerhouses getting drilled. and to use one games stats or a half to explain what another team would do is funny. LSU would be major underdogs but vegas was built on games won on paper of course.
I am very happy for Pellini. At the beginning of the season people were bashing him really hard. Now he's shown what he can do. If it weren't for his defense we would have atleast 3 losses.
