What's the record for illegal procedure penalties called against one player in a single game? It seemed like every time a Tennessee defender jumped he flinched. I think he was called at least four to five times.:nope: :geauxtige

luke pettitgout for the giants had 5 or 6 last year against the seahawks. herm was called 3 times today. my only guess was that he was about to do some sort of guard pull or would need to react fastly to do what he was supposed to. the good thing is that it is something that we can work on.

Mr. Johnson did indeed have a bad game. I counted about five false starts on him.

I'm curious about the cause. Typically, it's either because:

1 -- You can't hear, and don't watch the ball. I doubt that was the case.

2 -- You're concerned about your guy across the line. That could have been the case.

3 -- Injury. An NFL tackle was penalized five times last week for false starts, and it was mainly because he was really, really banged up. Ribs, knee, wrist and he had trouble concentrating. Good reminder of how brutal this sport can be!!

Hopefully Big Herm just had an off day.
