I wouldn't necessarily generalize all leftists as atheists... no doubt the Clintons still claim to be Methodist I believe.

And why isn't there? The left, that's why.

As far as sex ed. goes. If they are not teaching that they should wait until marriage, then I don't want them bringing it up with my children. What my children learn, from an adult, about sex is my responsibility not the schools. Kids can't pray, but they can learn how to put a condom on a cucumber? Something is wrong here.

First of all, you got these off of an athiest website - not a liberal website. The 2 are not the same.

Secondly, the government shouldn't mandate a "moment of silence" but should allow it in place of public prayer sponsored by the school.

There's a fine line between school & student lead prayer. What about when a teacher asks a student to lead the prayer? What about when the prayer is to begin class & students don't have an option as to the attendance to it? Just because a student leads it doesn't mean it isn't school sponsored.

right, not just "many", the overwhelming majority of everyone, regardless of party. democrats are often just as crazy as republicans. they believe in all manner of goblins. john kerry even mentioned his faith in the debates. you cant escape it, everyone is crazy.

Was it the left 250 years ago when the country was formed & yet didn't make a national language?

I believe you as a parent should have the choice to not allow your child to participate and I think you do. Problem solved?

:hihi: What? Since when? This clearly spells out their agenda.

It wasn't an issue then. Everyone spoke the same language. People who came here learned to speak the language.

So my kid is the one who is reduced to being made fun of and being singled out. Isn't that one of their arguments against school prayer. It's OK if it is the little Christian boy or girl. My problem solver is sending my children to a private Christian school. Even though it cost a small fortune.

Everyone didn't speak the same language. Most people that came here learned to speak the language, but weren't forced to - just like now.

    regarding national language:

salty, i dont presume to change your mind about all your southern religious cultural values, but i really think if you thought about this one you might change your mind. america is based on concepts like freedom and individual rights, not a specific culture that includes things like music or literature or language. if a guy speaks spanish only, and he is in favor of the things that make america america, then he is just as american as you and me. what language he speaks is of no consequence. i know plenty of people who barely speak english at all, and they are more representative of the "american dream" values than most whiteys.

learn to love our latino friends!
