    just wondering why the coaches switched Sheppard to WR in the first place:confused:

    It's typically a natural switch for an athletic QB. Obviously, they saw enough of him as a QB that initial spring to realize he wasn't going to play right away, if at all (and since Russell has NEVER complained about it, he obviously was humbled himself by not being equipped to play QB at this level).

    And when he came here, he was lanky--what QB's typically are and the type that get broken in half if consistantly run as a RB in the SEC.

    Look around college and the pros. There are TONS of former-QB's turned WR.

    ole what's-his-face, Smith? that plays for the NYJ that went to Mizzou
    Julian Edleman for the Patriots

    You RARELY hear of any former-QB ever become a productive RB (Brian Mitchell is the only one I know of) because if you've played QB, you're typically a lot taller and a lot thinner than a RB.
