Make that 31 years ago, old feller. "Louisiana 1927" was on the "Good Ol' Boys" album, released in 1974. "Rednecks" was also on that album, with the classic line "College Men from LSU, Went in dumb, came out dumb too."
We call it Doo-Set because that is the way Early himself pronounces it. This has been rehashed over and over on the real talk shows. Jacques Doucet (doo-say) of Channel 9 affirmed on Buddy Songy's show that Early requests that his name be pronounced Doo-Set. I have a friend named Jean. He pronounces his first name like Gene rather than the standard French pronounciation. I made that mistake once. Did you forget this is a LSU board? Most of us are coonasses just like you. We know how to pronounce those types of names.
