South Carolina athletic director Ray Tanner is hoping to play Saturday's game againstLSU at Williams-Brice Stadium, but isn't certain it's going to happen after torrential rainfall over the weekend caused flooding at the Gamecocks home field.

"Our intention is to have the game here in Columbia, but it's not definite," Tanner said Tuesday.

Tanner said a decision will hopefully be made within the next 24-36 hours, and playing the game at LSU "Is not out of the question."

The biggest issue about hosting the game is infrastructure, according to Tanner, who is worried about water supply, roads, and available first responders.
  2. A TAF member just told me he thinks there is a 50-50 chance the game will be played in Tiger Stadium. The federally funded first responders could be in trouble if they dropped what they are doing to provide security at Bryce-Williams Stadium.

How would tickets work if the game is in Baton Rouge?
  3. i hope its not canceled, the ran was supposed to stop today. but that water aint going anywhere that fast.
  4. Not going to be cancelled but may be moved. The game will be played somewhere.
  5. Well, this would be an interesting way to get in the home game lost for McNeese.

  6. At least we both have different bye weeks so they can't reschedule to the week before Bama.
  7. I could see where it would be, but would it be any worse than say, when LSU moved their scheduled home game to Sun Devil Stadium in the aftermath of Katrina? Not to say that wasn't a royal pain in the ass for a lot of people too, but it's definitely doable.

  8. What a way for Spurrier to go out right where it almost started.
  9. Anyone know when the final decision will be made?
