No, they are not fair at all. they were much too leniant on Alabama, a school that has been cheating for 30+ years.

Considering what they did to LSU basketball over one violation, they should have given the death penalty to alabama due to the absurd amount of money involved, the MULTIPLE violations and their loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong history of cheating.

To hear an Alabama fan complain about the fairness of the NCAA only re-enforces my opinion that Alabama fans are in complete denial. You cheated and got caught, after the NCAA let you skate all those "Bear years". Please stop trying to take down the SEC because you got caught and rightfully punished. Bringing down the SEC, or leaving the SEC, is what I have seen TONS of Bama fans say on your boards.

Move on and just drop it why don't you?

That's just it, in my post I did not say that Alabama was or was not treated fairly...what I asked was do you think any of the judgements are fair or consistent. I see that you don't think that they are fair. To me this has become as important as a law suit..........if you commit murder you are sent to prison for x amount of years, given life without parole, or the death penalty. I think that the NCAA should have rules...if you do this...here is the punishment...without having to think,because its in black and white ....this is what the rule is. It would have killed me for Bama to get the death penalty, but if they were consistant with that..I could not complain. My question was because I don't truly know all the facts and want to understand. One thing that I do not understand, (and may be its just one of those things you hear and is not even true) is what is the difference between a fan and a booster. We were fined because a booster did something, and then another school was not investigated because the money that a player received was given by a fan and not a booster............
I only hope that the university has in motion the plan that no one will violate the rules..coaches, fans, boosters...whoever. Please don't spoil it for us all.
I know what you talk about on our boards...that is why I don't go there that much. It is full of a lot of well intended fans that just let their tempers get away from them and want justice because of what they have heard on a radio show saying its all a lie. At this point in time...I don't even care if it's a lie. As far as the university goes it would not matter. We were accused, say they found proof(I say it that way, because I really don't know everything about it and I admit it), were sentenced, trying to live out the probation...so believe me the true Bama fan wants to move on..............and we sincerly hope we are never even questioned about anything again....that our nose will be clean.
