There is an article in today's Birmingham News entitled "Fulmer's safety a concern at media Days." The SEC media days are in Birmingham next week and I guess ther is concern because of the UAT-UT friction. The first paragraph in the article says:

"Tenn. coach Phil Fulmer doesn't seem to have many fans these days in Alabama, and universith officials are concerned about his safety at next week's SEC media days in Birmingham."

This is precisely the kind of thing I have talked about happening when friction between schools gets out of hand.

What is the friction between UAT (???) - UT?

That's a loooong story. UT and UAT have always been big rivals. But it has intensified over the past two years since bama blames Fulmer for blowing the whistle on them resulting in their current probation in football. Now there are several lawsuts between some of the key characters involved.

Oh....UAT is University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa (their main campus).

I am a dumb A@#. I thought maybe you meant UAB, it never dawned on me UAT. Sorry.

If you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar, is it your brother's fault for telling, or your fault for sticking in there in the first place? We as a society (fans) typcially find it easier to blame others than be critical or ourselves.

Don't feel bad. Us Aubies say UAT to agravate them a bit. They don't like beeing referred to as UAT, evan though there is a UAB (Birmingham) and
UAH (Huntsville) both of whicha are pretty autonomous and have their own sports teams. bama likes to be referred to as THE UA. I guess I will be chastised by BamaMyHeart poster fo this little dialogue.

I wish we had the kind of photoshop farkers they have at OU. I have this image of Phatimus in Tuscaloosa, surrounded by his bodyguards. Or maybe Michael Jackson's.

    Help us, Mr. Peabody.

Similar to the deal with LSU and ULL.. ULL wanted to be and should have been allowed to be called UL, but LSU bullied the board of regents.. seems they didnt want any other schools to have a non-regional, tech, etc. name..

Before the flamers come out, Im a LSU fan, but it was a bad move by them. Regional names tend to keep out of state students from coming in. They should be looking out for the state, not just for themselves.

What's Fulmer got to be overly concerned about? Does he think the owners of the local Krispy Kreme are Bama fans and will refuse to serve him?

I hope Fulmer gets his big ass kicked by someone from Alabama.
If he has a conscience he should be 1 scared whale!

To think I kinda liked the guy at 1 point but after the latest episode I think I would take TT anyday over Fulmer.

Let me rephrase that a little, I would take -any- coach over Fulmer. :thumb:
