One of my education professors at UL required students to use his textbook. Some of the assignments were required to be written in the textbook so it was impossible to sell it or buy it used.
All the e'books and such are nice, but I always preferred a real book. Still have a lot of my books. The idea of free text books is pretty damn cool.
