I'm not too worried. Florida's O scored: 21 against Bama 21 on Tennessee 34 on Southern Miss 40 on UCF 26 on Kentucky I don't think the Tigers will need to score more than 21 to secure victory.
During the Bama game, one of the announcers... I think it was Danielson... said "if you follow the Florida fullback, he'll lead you to the ball most every time." So I watched... and sure enough, they run the ball to wherever he is about 90% of the time. I'm sure Pellini knows that, too. Florida can be had... and I think LSU is the team to expose them. You'll win by at least 10 points... book it, Dano!!
The trick is for our D-line and blitzers to be sure not to overpursue. That quirky, misdirectional offense can bury you if you overcommit and don't stay in your tackling lanes.
I think our package for this game will be one that dares Florida to put Tebow in the game. We should be able to eliminate their passing game. Especially since Wynn is out. They won't be able to keep our Defense as honest without a solid running game.
The USM game was considerably closer than the score indicates. It was 14-7 at the half. UF scored 13 in the 4th when USM tried to throw it to stage a comeback.
Florida will surely have a few things up their sleeve for this game, and so I think the key for our defense is to stay in proper position - especially downfield, even if it looks like the play is going to be something that doesn't require it.
This defense has been excellent in getting in position to make a play and creating a lot of gang tackles. I'm not sure a misdirection offense can beat a team that seems to have 4 players at the ball by the end of the play--you won't fool everyone. UF may break some big (10-15 yards) plays, but I don't think they will be able to sustain the drives needed to score a lot on the Tigers. LSU's inability to run when they need to is the only thing that worries me. GEAUX TIGERS (Gators Eat Boogers)
Florida is actually running a few more conventional plays this year.. thats why they are more sucessful on offense.. the spread still doesnt work in the SEC with a drop qb...
