1. Well we knew it was coming. LSU does a good job recruiting but it seems like all the players think they're going to start right away. Hope they work things out, top rebounder in juco seems like he should be able to do something at this level!
  2. This shouldn't be a shocker to anyone. Brady has had more players transfer, leave, never show up than any coach I've ever seen. And for the life of me I can't understand why...with Brady's pleasant personality, demeanor and superior coaching et al it just doesn't make any sense.
  3. Well, I know I've been pretty critical/skeptical of Brady the past few seasons, but this scenerio just doesn't appear to be his fault...

Sounds like a drastic "knee jerk" reaction by Gransberry, indeed.

Now, I don't know a whole lot about Gransberry, but just looking at his bio and his size, I would think that as the season progressed, he would fill in nicely backing up Davis down low.

Wow...I just don't know what really ticked this guy off to the point where he would want to leave because he didn't get as much playing time in a meaningless exhibition game? (unless he was out-right lied to by the coaching staff about his playing time....which is something that you can't rule out completely, but we don't know the entire story to say that that was the case).
  4. Yeah....He DOES have some SERIOUS problems with players leaving. You would think after getting "gut-punched" by the number of players jumping ship on him, he would learn how to communicate/relate to these guys...

  5. Agree with the line of thinking with this post. On the one hand it looks like yet another player not happy with PT and making a rash judgement about leaving (Shawnson Johnson comes to mind), and perhaps there is some blame that falls on the LSU coaching staff (in my mind, it's recruiting him in the first place... if he's got a screw loose and is not a mature player, we've got to stop signing these types. Second, how can you sign 4 forwards in a class and not expect some attrition/problems). But, on the other hand, I think you've really got a case of too much competition for Kentrell to handle, and the kid's insecure. He's got to compete with Darnell, Tyrus, Magnum, Chris Johnson, not to mention Davis and Tasmin. All of whom, by the way, looked good last night. Especially Darnell and Tyrus, who offer the same size as Kentrell but more mobility and offense, as well as the two Laurinburg prep guys, who look athletic, mobile and can score.

I think yes, it'd be nice to have a big body who can bang around inside, take some heat off of Glen, and get some boards, but from his perspective, he's after what everyone's after, PT, and he doesn't think he'll get it. I chalk this one up mostly, as a sign of Kentrell's (lack of) maturity rather than Brady "scaring" him off. Brady played all of his guys in both exhibition games, and would probably play Kentrell some this season.
  6. Very good analysis Tiger in Horn Land. I agree completely with your remarks. I think Brady has definietly become less abrasive over the years and I think Gransberry leaving may be more of a reflection of Gransberry than Brady. But I do agree that is that is the case we need to do a better job recruiting quality individuals.
  7. We have 10 guys who can flat out play, yet people will bitch about one marginal immature player who couldn't cut it emotionally and/or on the court.:dis:

Probation sanctions are no longer an excuse, but the prior defections can be attributed to sanctions vis-a-vis who we were forced to recruit. Gransberry picking up his ball and leaving is not a symptom of a problem. Repeat: There is not a problem . People shouldn't try to create one.
  8. i wish he would stay....he can really help this team out .....just has to work hard in practice and have confidence..
  9. Brady's lost another one. What a shame. What does everyone think of getting that coach from Kentucky State? He's a great up and coming young coach.
