Ok I love Shepard too, but Pryor is an absolutely incredible prospect. Yes he went to a small high school and didn't play in Texas, but he did extremely well in the Army AA game against the other top recruits.

good points I think both are really special talents and am happy that we have 1 of the 2 but the character edge goes to shep IMO

With the small amount of practice time provided, Pryor's skill set set-up him perfectly for success in such a game. He relied on his athletic ability as a runner, and didn't show much as a QB.

Pryor's athletic ability & measurables are off the charts, but he is very far from a polished QB.

While Shepard's high school offense has not allowed him to display his attributes as a passing QB, he has a very good QB coach and he is dedicated to being a complete QB. But it really comes down to character & leadership as the main reasons that I would much prefer Shepard over Pryor.

I find it amusing how I found a site listing Pryor #16 nationally when LSU was on his list, and the list was deemed absurd, but now that LSU is off his list, the dude can't play and is overrated....

Pryor's skill set sets him up for success in every game. The guy is just a special talent and the Vince Young comparisons hold true. He's not going to light the world on fire with his passing, but with his athletic ability he is going to make tons of plays on the ground. He is a difference maker in every sense of the term.

The things you are saying about Shepard, about him wanting to become a complete QB, the same things can be said about Pryor. Pryor also had literally no competition in his high school season, he would often be done by the 3rd and never really had a chance to show off his arm because no one could stop him from running.

As far as character and leadership go, yes the edge probably goes to Shepard. But the stuff about Pryor really came out a few weeks ago with how he acted at basketball games. We still don't know much about Shepard.

Again, I am very happy with Russell Shepard, not trying to knock him at all. But I still don't get why Pryor is getting hate on here when everyone was falling head over heels for him when he started considering LSU.
