Who's your favorite LSU Tiger? I'm focusing on football, but basketball and baseball are okay too. I'm only 18 so my memory of LSU sports goes back to like the late 90s at the most, so I won't say Billy Cannon or someone like that because I wasn't alive to see all that though I've heard countless stories. I'm going to go with LaRon Landry. I just haven't seen that much attitude and productivity and consistency from anyone. He just brought so much fire to the defense and nothing got them going like a big hit from Landry. Just the intensity was great, but he was also able to fall back and play well in coverage. I know all great safeties get compared to Ronnie Lott, but I think the comparison here is good because while Lott was a crazy hitter, he also got a ton of interceptions and played well in coverage. I know my name implies I like Bowe, and I love Bowe's game too, but Landry's my guy. I hope he rips some heads off in the NFL (not literally!).

Steve Rehage, '83-'86. He was a DB who wore #7. Rehage was the first player about who I recall hearing anything special. I remember my brother telling me that Rehage was a vicious hitter. Rehage had a wild look in a game program photo, he looked vicious. That image has always stuck with me.
Ok guys, here's one for you. I attended Baker High as a freshman before I moved to New Iberia and went to school there. How many guys remember the brothers from Baker, 2 of which (if I remember correctly) went to LSU? Leroy, Leroyal, and Leroid Jones???? I SWEAR I'm not BS'ing you. I went to school with these guys and two went to LSU as running backs (guess you now know I'm an old fart). Here's another which I'm sure you all remember--Hokie Gajan (my sister dated him in high school). Baker used to be a real powerhouse in football, I haven't heard much from them lately. I barely recognized the town last time I passed through. At New Iberia Senior High, we had a running back on our team that was a year behind me named Johnny Hector. He caused alot of flack when he signed with LSU and renigged on the deal and went to Texas A&M. He was a helluva running back in high school and was almost as good at A&M. He went on to play with the NY Jets for years mostly as a blocking back. But he played for must of been 10 years if I remember correctly. Wow,,,,,brings back the memories. View attachment 8871
A. J. Duhe, a four-year starter at defensive tackle in the 70's. He went on to the Dolphins where he was a star DT, DE, and even MLB. Bill Armsparger would play him at all three positions in a single drive sometimes. Ethan Martin in Basketball. LSU never had a better ball handler, not even Pete. "E" could not be doubleteamed on the press, he just dribbled out of it. He was the key player on the 31-win final four team. All three losses that year wre in games where Ethan had an off night. Every other starter on the team could have an off night and someone would step in and hold down the fort . . . but there was nobody to sub for Ethan.
