    Gravy = eye of round
    Grill = ribeye or NY Strip

    Someone recently told me to buy a beef tenderloin at Sam's and slice some of it up into steaks. Anyone tried this ? Just moved to a new house and hopefully I'll have the connections in placethis weekend for my natural gas grill to char up some dead animal flesh.

    I had a nice Tuna Steak for lunch but I forgot about it while I was on the phone. This is about the worst food on earth to overcook...I just threw it away.

    Often the best price for filet mignon for a big dinner. Slice it yourself.

    Fresh-water fish need to be cooked well enough to kill any parasites. But salt-water fish don't really have parasites and can be eaten very rare.

    most all seafood is always overcooked. pork as well.

    regarding steaks, I dont think I have a favorite. ribeye, tbone, ny strip, porterhouse, filet.

    bring 'em on.

    although I do find the simpler the better. not all this marinade crap or bourbon whatever. and I like em pretty rare.

    a well-done steak is a bad steak.

    thank you!

    in college i was grilling a couple of my father's home grown steaks for me and a friend. she wanted hers well done. i refused. i told her she would eat it rare or med rare or go find her own damned dinner. i refused to ruin a great steak that way.

    That's cause she'd probably made up her mind before tasting it that she wouldn't. When I finally learned to block out the little bit of blood on my plate thing, I couldn't believe what I'd been missing. Started with real pink then learned to see more blood but don't like A LOT, just to where it BARELY seeps as I cut my stake.

    Have to say though, my father always said people put ketchup on something that they didn't like the taste of and I'd tell him not if that's how they like it- they may like the taste with the ketchup (Not steaks, necessarily). That said, when I cook for someone, I prepare it to their tastes- I hope greenie liked them rare. :wink:
