1. Play on the field also dictates the W/L

  2. Not really.

You can play VERY BAD on the field but still win the game. Hence the term " AN UGLY WIN"

Just as sometimes you can play your hardest and leave it all on the field and still lose on one play or bad call.
  3. marine this is exactly what the hell im talking about. not trying to be an ass but man everytime somebody says something about the coaching staff you jump down there throat.

you can be a true fan and not agree with everything that is happening on the field. Im not happy with the way things for the future are looking. thats doesn't make me a fairweather fan.

and i do agree we do have many bandwagon fans.
  4. I just jump on stupid comments
  5. There are a lot of variables to this season that makes it hard to gauge what should or could have been. Could the coaching staff done a better job? Sure...but looking at the season I think they did a hell of a job. Just looking at the changes made from the beginning of the season to better use the skills we had on defense shows me that this staff is fluid and can adapt to what is needed to win. Execution on offense leaves alot to be desired but there were times that this team showed some poise and ability. Don't forget we have a 2nd year / first year starter at QB. I think his stock can only go up.

The players? Of course but I also feel that they were under a lot of pressure and not just from a standpoint of a non-typical season. These guys just looked worn out the last 2-3 games. I think emotionally and physically they were spent. It's definatly not fair to be penalized to a "lesser" bowl from a lackluster performance in their last game, one we all know should have been better. You can coach and prepare a team until the next millinium but it is up to the players to excecute the game plan. Stupid mistakes and missed assignments can't be totally blamed on coaching. The player has just as much resposibilty to carry out that plan. We are not talking about pee wee football here. Under the circumstances I think this team showed character and poise...and i'm proud to see this team go on to be as successful as they were in spite of all of the distractions.

As far as fans...well fans are fans. There will be those who feel like this season was great and others who feel like we should have run the table...dispite of all that occured this season. The complaints were here in 2003 and they surely won't go away in 2006. But we all have to give credit when it is due and it has to go to this organization that could have easily thrown in the towel after the Tennessee game and said "F" it.

We will never know but things could have wound up right where they are now. I mean the name Katrina could have barely provoked a thought other than being part of the name of a one-hit-wonder band from the 80's. But we have what we have and heres to getting some payback against a Hurricane that we do have some control over.
