1. You guys are way too cool!!!

Over at http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/index at the bottom they have a "Who's the best coach" poll.

    Pete Carroll is leading
    Ferentz is second
    The "Pope" is third
    Then Stoops

On the map they show results by state and Louisiana is the only Southern state voting for Ferentz.
Even our brothers in Michigan and Ferentz's home state of Pennsylvania are voting for Mr. 3-peat.

    So... thanks... we won't forget.

There's a rumor that Mack Brown is working behind the scenes to get on the list. The good news is he only wants to move from fifth to fourth.:hihi:
  2. i'll take fair'-entz. he was supposed to be our new coach according to my plan.
  3.
  4. How the hell did Urban Meyer get on that list?
  5. Definitely Ferentz.
  6. Until Ferentz wins a NC, I am not sure how you could put him ahead of Stoops or Carroll.
  7. He's done more with less. If I could have chosen any coach for the LSU job, Ferentz would have been it. Stoops & Petey can win all the national championships in the world, but could they do it in Iowa with much less talent & not as much tradition? I don't think they could. Now that Ferentz is starting to get some good recruiting classes, I look for Iowa to be playing for national championship soon.
  8. I think the fact that Ferentz was able to find a way to win 10 games in each of the past three years with three different QB's, each untested as the season began, is amazing.
Brad Banks became runner-up to the Heisman, then disappeared in the pros; Chandler go this one shot and finished 2nd in the league in Passing efficiency; then Tate, who was in for 5 plays his first year, steps in and is the league's MVP.
I can see a team doing this every so often... there are plenty of examples... but three years in a row speaks to a whole 'nuther kind of energy.
