1. This is why they are talking out of their A$$'s. Don't blame N.O. because Las Vegas screwed up. You honestly think a city that held Mardi Gras, the Sugar Bowl and a NFC playoff game within a month is not safe\capable of having the NBA allstar game? Something stinks here and for once it's not Bourbon.

  2. Ignorance is no excuse for making those kinds of comments. And since when is Tracy McGrady an authority? Seems to me that the NBA has got some personnel issues. Tim Hardaway hates gays and now Boston Celtic's radio analyst Cedrix Maxwell wants a female ref to "go back to the kitchen" because he didn't agree with her call.

If the entire Saints football team can call NOLA home for a season I would think a few overpaid, overpampered NBA stars could make it out safely for a weekend.

Try again bitter. Maybe this time you could provide something more than anecdotal pot stirring.

  3. T-Mac specifcally said he might not attend the next All-Star game no matter where it is held because of the time he had in Vegas. Bill Hunter has also retracted his statement about N.O. realizing he didnt know much about the city right now.

bitter, seems like you need to get out more. If you get the nads to visit N.O. I am sure I can get my sister to be your personal bodyguard.:hihi:

  4. Vegas had about 300,000 people show up for All-Star weekend and couldn't handle it.

NOLA had over 800,000 for Mardi Gras a week ago, and pulled it off with out a hitch.
To make it easier for bitter to understand, that's as many people than Notre Dame played in front of for the entire season combined, all held in a weeks time)
  5. Send me a picture of your sister, and maybe, I might be willing to visit NO. I could post a tasteless joke about your sister and my nads, but I'm too classy for that.

But, seriously, where are you getting that quote from T-Mac from, and how he wouldn't go to the next All-Star game no matter where it was held? This quote from him seems to indicate otherwise:

This is the quote I've read, "When they first mentioned to me that the All-Star Game was going to be in New Orleans, the first thing I thought about is how much security they are going to have for the players and everybody out there. I don't think its the right city to have this type of event right now."

It seems to me he's specifically singling out New Orleans, and how it feels it might be too dangerous.
  6. Oh, you mean, like how earlier, I posted statsistics and facts that NO has the highest homicide rate in the country? :yelwink2:

And, its not just in the ghetto areas because those areas were among the hardest hit by Katrina and so those areas haven't really recovered, and are still somewhat empty. Now, that crime wave has moved into upscale, high traffic areas like French Quarters, Uptown, and Marginy. Hey, I was just warning you about the crime in NO. But, if you want to remain oblivious to it, then that's your choice.
  7. Perhaps you could provide the data on how many irish fans fell into that murder statistic while they were in NOLA to watch the dismantling of their beloved team. Any idea how many murders occurred during Mardi Gras?

Anyone oblivious to their surroundings is more likely to become a crime victim. That said, there are just as many "victims" of less obvious and yet more incidious concepts like racism and sexism.
  8. Mike Golic from Mike and Mike said he talked to McGrady and he stated T-Mac was just concerned about the All-Star Game in general with the problems that occured in Vegas. They also said that N.O. was the target of these comments because it is possibly the next venue for the game and T-Mac said he would have said it about any city after the fiasco at All-star weekend.

Please dont post any more bogus stats about N.O. since you have already made it obvious that you dont have a clue about the city and never will because you are a fragile and scared. Where are the Mardi Gras stats of yours, there will be far less at the all-star game.

BTW, My sister doesnt go for the pansy type.

    Stay classy Irish.
  9. Well, it sounds to me like McGrady is back tracking at this point because of the outrage over what he said about NO. Its kinda like when somebody says something politically incorrect, there's a backlash against it, and the the person who mispoke goes into spin control and says he really meant to say this. If you read his original quote about NO, before his handlers got to him, it clearly shows that he was expressing concern specifically about NO.

I'm not sure how information about how dangerous NO is bogus when that's what's being reported in the national media. So, are you saying NO doesn't have the highest homicide rate in the country? Maybe, sending in the National Guards because crime was out of control was just bogus as well?

Seriously, as an outsider, I don't understand why NO residents are so intent on ignoring these problems and re-electing the same incompetent, corrupt officials that were the part of the problem in the first place. Only after acknowedling the problem, will you guys do anything about it. Your police department is a joke right now. Everybody still remembers those videos of police officers running away from their posts or actively engaging in the looting. I think what you guys really need is to hire somebody like William Bratton, former chief of NYPD, to come in and clean house and retake the streets.
  10. I've got more than she could handle. But, I could only be with somebody who understood the importance of ND football. So, that would mean no anniversaries or weddings or special plans when ND is playing.
