6. Steve Slaton will win the Heisman: Slaton will run for more than 1,800 yards and 25 touchdowns and will win the Heisman Trophy in a narrow race against Arkansas tailback Darren McFadden. Irate Razorbacks fans will complain that coach Houston Nutt threw the football too much and will demand his firing. I find the Arky part humorous...
i thought it sucked as well. bland was exactly what we thought. after hearing so much about it i looked forward to the entire experience but i can honestly say it was one of the most lame places ive been. certainly no desire to go back.
Barring injury, McFadden will win the Heisman hands down....Keiland Williams will finish 2nd in voting:grin: , then Colt Brennan and then Steve Slayton.
We don't have any idea what kind of season he's going to have next year. After the '03 season, many of this board were predicting the same for Justin Vincent, and we (sadly) know how that turned out. I'm not sure how Arkansas is going to bounce back from all of the turmoil in Fayetteville.
Uh, no. Tongue in cheek, I was suggesting that a home AND away would be a great idea. I really wouldn't want all our games to be at home. I enjoy making some of the trips each year. I'd say that despite the absence of Darren McFadden last year, we still put a pretty good hurt on the Razorbacks and a few years before that we did shut out Auburn at their house. Both those games were a part of a home AND away arrangement. If you look at the home and away numbers for both schools since 2003, USC has had 6-6 every year. LSU's Home/Away for the last four years looks like this; 7-5, 7-4, 6-5, and 8-4. And don't forget that 2 of your 4 roadtrips last year were losses to Florida and Auburn. I hope you can avenge both of those this year since I don't like either team. West Coast types have no problem with travel and I agree, it feels all the sweeter to beat an opponent on their field. I do think McFadden is the pre-season favorite. Whether someone else deserves it more is something that we'll know at the end of the year. Heck if we went just on deserving then LSU and USC should just not play any games this season and show up in NOLA in January. :hihi: What, no love for a Louisiana boy? If JD Booty has a decent year, he'll be in the hunt.
If you're not careful, the loss will extend beyond just watching a football team lose. Seriously, NOLA is still a dangerous place and you should still be very careful.
I don't think Bama will beat Vanderbilt. Vandy has a much stronger team for next year and may be Bowl bound. I see Bama going to Vandy cocky for their first SEC game under Saban and losing to big defensive let downs in the 2nd half. Vandy 34, Bama 19. Book it. Bama 1 and 4 in September
As with any city, if you stay out of the seedy parts of town you will be OK. Just ask the Irish fans that came down during the Sugar Bowl. I saw them drinking heavily, wearing their tickets around their necks in a clear laminate for everyone to see as they stumbled around the French Quarter. No one, that I am aware of, was a victim of a violent crime (even though they were asking for it).
