because carroll is a known first time failure in the NFL and Stoops' whining mentality doesn't set well with a professional league. both should stay put. saban would die within a decade from an aneurism as well.
Probably because the media thinks that a yankee coach can't be happy in the deep south... or they think his college coaching career is at its pinnacle.
or they think he has maxed out on the demand for such a market in the college ranks where someone like idiot Daniel Snyder can pay unlimited jack....which both are very true. if its about the money, he is gone sooner than later. LSU did what it could beyond keeping Emmert. Damn I miss that guy already.
Thing is, if he does leave, he has brought this school to such a position as it will be very easy for us to attract another great coach. Yes. That MNC last year was as much Emmerts as it was Saban. That guy was a class act, and knows that great institutions are built from the ground up. I think instead of Saban leaving.. after Davis is fired... we should pick him up as asst. coach in charge of ALL recruiting.. and pay him a chunk... he would recruit the hell outa Florida for us as well as La. and Tex. but it wont happen... I think he goes to Florida and Meyer goes to Washington or Michigan if Carr rumors are true.
i do believe davis is a horrible game day coach from my recollection. he better get the recruits to win.
He had around the same record as NS in the Big East, I think 3 Big East Championships (2 ties), and 1 MNC also with 1 loss. But he sent 56 athletes in the first round of the draft.
I am sure some in the media don't respect LSU as a traditional powerhouse. Some do but others that don't "know" college football and the history of LSU and the audience of WWL and tradition of LSU would probably view this job as the equivalent of Mississippi State. That would be my best guess.
no one off crack would think that unless they never watched more than one college football game in their life.
If Saban does leave the Lsu job will pass up the Florida job as the most the most wanted position in the country...even when Dinardo was fired there so many big names mentioned to come here....so whatever happens I think we'll be ok but hey I dont think cns is going anywhere...
